Ad-Dukhan
ذُقۡ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡكَرِيمُ
49“Taste it now! Indeed, you were (supposed to be) the mighty, the generous!”
49The reason for descending the verse
Narrated by Ikrimah, he said, “One day, the Prophet (s.a.w) met Abu Jahl. The latter said to him, ‘You know that I am of the most powerful person on earth, and that I am the mighty, the noble!’ Allah (exalted is He) killed him at the Battle of Badr, humiliated him, and reviled him, using his own words.
