About the Surah

       Or (lest) you say: “If a Book had been sent down to us, we would surely have been better guided than them (Jews and Christians). (Bear in mind, now you have no excuse left since) a clear proof (the Quran) has come to you from your Creator which is (a means of) guidance, and is a mercy (of your Creator). Hence, who will be more unjust than one who rejects Allah’s revelations and hinders others (to accept them)? So We shall inflict an evil torment on those who hinder Our revelations due to their hindrance. (Just rejection of Verses was enough for punishment, but due to hindering others, the punishment is intensified).
