Al-Anam
وَلَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَىٰٓ أُمَمٖ مِّن قَبۡلِكَ فَأَخَذۡنَٰهُم بِٱلۡبَأۡسَآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَتَضَرَّعُونَ
42Indeed, We sent messengers to many communities before you [O Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)!]. We seized those communities with extreme poverty and calamities so that they might become humble (and believe in Allah).
