Al-Anfal
إِن تَسۡتَفۡتِحُواْ فَقَدۡ جَآءَكُمُ ٱلۡفَتۡحُۖ وَإِن تَنتَهُواْ فَهُوَ خَيۡرٞ لَّكُمۡۖ وَإِن تَعُودُواْ نَعُدۡ وَلَن تُغۡنِيَ عَنكُمۡ فِئَتُكُمۡ شَيۡٔٗا وَلَوۡ كَثُرَتۡ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
19(O disbelievers) if you ask for final result and judgement, then you have seen the result (truth has overcome the falsehood). Hence, if you stop opposition [to Prophet Muhammad ( may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him )], it is better for you. And if you revert, We shall revert too (i.e. crush you down by Muslims), and your forces will not be able to do you any good however large they may be. And, indeed, Allah is with the believers.
19The reason for descending the verse
Narrated by Al-Hakim Abu 'Abd Allah in his Sahih, “Before they set off to fight the Prophet(s.a.w) in Uhud, the idolaters grabbed the covers of the Ka'bah and prayed, 'O Allah, give victory to the greatest of the two armies, the most guided of the two camps, the noblest of the two parties, and the best of the two religions', and so Allah(exalted is He) revealed these verses.”(Al-Wahidi,Reasons of Revelation)
