Al-Baqarah
۞يَسَۡٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلۡخَمۡرِ وَٱلۡمَيۡسِرِۖ قُلۡ فِيهِمَآ إِثۡمٞ كَبِيرٞ وَمَنَٰفِعُ لِلنَّاسِ وَإِثۡمُهُمَآ أَكۡبَرُ مِن نَّفۡعِهِمَاۗ وَيَسَۡٔلُونَكَ مَاذَا يُنفِقُونَۖ قُلِ ٱلۡعَفۡوَۗ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمُ ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَتَفَكَّرُونَ
219They ask you concerning alcoholic drink and gambling. Say: “Both are major sins, although there is a little benefit in them for the people. And, the sin of them is greater than their benefit.” And they ask you how much amount should be spent. Say: “All that which is beyond your needs.” In this way Allah makes His revelations clear to you so that you may ponder over them
