About the Surah

       And if you divorce women with whom you did not have sexual relations but you have fixed the bridal money for them, then the husband should pay half of the bridal money. (There are two exceptions to this law). (Firstly) if the women forego their rights (then the husband doesn’t have to pay even half of bridal money). (Secondly) the husband in whose hands is marriage tie, foregoes his rights (and voluntarily is willing to pay full bridal money to the wife.) Foregoing your rights is closer to piety. Don’t forget graciousness between yourselves. Indeed, Allah is All-Seer of what you do.
