Al-Jumuah
وَإِذَا رَأَوۡاْ تِجَٰرَةً أَوۡ لَهۡوًا ٱنفَضُّوٓاْ إِلَيۡهَا وَتَرَكُوكَ قَآئِمٗاۚ قُلۡ مَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ خَيۡرٞ مِّنَ ٱللَّهۡوِ وَمِنَ ٱلتِّجَٰرَةِۚ وَٱللَّهُ خَيۡرُ ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ
11And when (some of) them see a trading opportunity or some amusing activity, they rush towards it leaving you standing there. Say: “That which Allah has (by way of reward) is (much) better than any amusement or trade! And Allah is the Best of providers.”
11The reason for descending the verse
Jabir ibn 'Abd Allah narrated, “The Messenger of Allah was standing, delivering a sermon one Friday, when a caravan arrived from Syria. People left the mosque and went out to attend to it; only twelve people remained seated. Allah then revealed this verse.” (Al-Wahidi,Reasons of Revelation and As-Suyuti in Lubab)
