And (that time is worth remem-ber-ing) when you [O Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)!] left your family early in the morning to assign the believers their positions in the battle (of Uhud). And Allah is All-Hearer, All Knower.

The reason for descending the verse

Al-Miswar bin Makhramah said to his uncle, Abdurrahman bin ‘Auf (r.a),“Tell me about what happened to you at Uhud?” He said,“Read the first one hundred and twenty one verses of Ali 'Imran and you will find your answer.”(And [remember] when you, [O Muhammad], left your family in the morning to post the believers at their stations for the battle [of Uhud] - and Allah is Hearing and Knowing -)(Al-Wahidi,Reasons of Revelation)
