An-Nisa’
وَلَوۡ أَنَّا كَتَبۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ أَنِ ٱقۡتُلُوٓاْ أَنفُسَكُمۡ أَوِ ٱخۡرُجُواْ مِن دِيَٰرِكُم مَّا فَعَلُوهُ إِلَّا قَلِيلٞ مِّنۡهُمۡۖ وَلَوۡ أَنَّهُمۡ فَعَلُواْ مَا يُوعَظُونَ بِهِۦ لَكَانَ خَيۡرٗا لَّهُمۡ وَأَشَدَّ تَثۡبِيتٗا
66And if We had commanded them (saying): “Kill yourselves (i.e. innocent persons kill the guilty ones) or migrate from your homeland,” very few would have obeyed it. And if (these hypocrites) had done what they are told [to obey the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) wholeheartedly] it would have been better for them, and it would have strengthened (their Faith) a lot.
