About the Surah

       It is not for a believer to kill another believer except by mistake and whosoever kills a believer by mistake (it is prescribed that) he must set free a believing slave and must pay blood-money to the deceased’s family unless they forgive him the blood-money. If the deceased belonged to a tribe at war with you and he was a believer (it is prescribed) to free a believing slave only. And if he belonged to a tribe with whom you have a treaty of mutual alliance, blood money must be paid fully and a believing slave must also be freed. And whosoever cannot find a slave or does not have means to buy a slave, he should fast for two continuous months in order to seek repentance from Allah and Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
