An-Nur
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ جَآءُو بِٱلۡإِفۡكِ عُصۡبَةٞ مِّنكُمۡۚ لَا تَحۡسَبُوهُ شَرّٗا لَّكُمۖ بَلۡ هُوَ خَيۡرٞ لَّكُمۡۚ لِكُلِّ ٱمۡرِيٕٖ مِّنۡهُم مَّا ٱكۡتَسَبَ مِنَ ٱلۡإِثۡمِۚ وَٱلَّذِي تَوَلَّىٰ كِبۡرَهُۥ مِنۡهُمۡ لَهُۥ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٞ
11Indeed, those who coined a lie [against Aisha , the wife of the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)] is a group among you. Don’t consider it a bad thing for you. In fact, it is good for you. Every person among them will have sin according to his actions. The one who played the bigger role among them (i.e. Abdullah bin Obayy), he will have great torment.
11The reason for descending the verse
On the authority of `A’isha the mother of the believers,she said(when the slanderers said what they said about her),“I went to my bed knowing at that time that I was innocent and that Allah would reveal my innocence, but by Allah, I never thought that Allah would reveal in my favour a revelation which would be recited, for I considered myself too unimportant to be talked about by Allah in the Divine Revelation that was to be recited.” So Allah revealed the ten verses (of surah An-Nur).
