Hud
أَلَآ إِنَّهُمۡ يَثۡنُونَ صُدُورَهُمۡ لِيَسۡتَخۡفُواْ مِنۡهُۚ أَلَا حِينَ يَسۡتَغۡشُونَ ثِيَابَهُمۡ يَعۡلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعۡلِنُونَۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمُۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ
5Bear in mind that they fold their breasts to hide (their talk) from Him. Bear in mind that He knows what they conceal and what they reveal even when they are covered in garments. Indeed, Allah knows what is hidden in their breasts. (Why should He not know what they utter by their tongues?)
5The reason for descending the verse
This verse was revealed about Al-Akhnas ibn Shurayq who was good looking and sweet talking. When he met the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w), he pleased him but he always kept in his heart that which displeased him. Al-Kalbi said, “He used to sit with the Prophet (s.a.w) and display things that pleased the Prophet while hiding in his heart the opposite of what he displayed. And so AllahTheAlmighty, revealed this verse. (Al-Wahidi,Reasons of Revelation)
