بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
وَٱلۡعَصۡرِ
By the (flight of) time.
إِنَّ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ لَفِي خُسۡرٍ
Indeed, man is (due to wasting his lifetime) in (sheer) loss.
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِٱلصَّبۡرِ
Except those who believe and do good deeds and remind one another to adhere to the truth and advise one another to be patient. (Hence, it is important to try to improve others in addition to our own improvement in order to be successful in the Hereafter).
