Al-Fath
لَّقَدۡ صَدَقَ ٱللَّهُ رَسُولَهُ ٱلرُّءۡيَا بِٱلۡحَقِّۖ لَتَدۡخُلُنَّ ٱلۡمَسۡجِدَ ٱلۡحَرَامَ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ءَامِنِينَ مُحَلِّقِينَ رُءُوسَكُمۡ وَمُقَصِّرِينَ لَا تَخَافُونَۖ فَعَلِمَ مَا لَمۡ تَعۡلَمُواْ فَجَعَلَ مِن دُونِ ذَٰلِكَ فَتۡحٗا قَرِيبًا
27Indeed, Allah has shown a true dream to His messenger [Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) ]. (The dream is that) you shall, God willing, enter Masjid al-Haram (along with your companions) peacefully, some will have their heads shaved and others with only short hair. Allah knows (the wisdom in) various events but you don’t know. (One of the piece of wisdom was that) Allah granted you a near victory (in Khaiber, in order that the believers may have more wealth and power so that they can perform the Umrah peacefully.)
27The reason for descending the verse
On the authority of Mujahid he said, “When the Prophet (s.a.w) was in Hudaibiyyah, he dreamed of entering Makkah safely and securely with his Companions. In the dream was sighted some Companions shaved thoroughly and the others cut short their hairs as a sign they finished ihram. (With treaty of Hudaibiyyah they could not perform ihram), so the Prophet (s.a.w) ordered them to slaughterhadyu (sacrifice animal) as a sign of tahalul. The followers of the Prophet (the hypocrites) asked the content of his dream, ‘Where is the evidence of that dream, O Messenger of Allah?’ Then this verse has been revealed promising the truth of the Prophet’s dream and would be proven.” (Narrated by Abd ibn Humaid and Al-Baihaqi) (Jalaludin As-Suyutiin Lubab)
