Ash-Shura
۞وَلَوۡ بَسَطَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلرِّزۡقَ لِعِبَادِهِۦ لَبَغَوۡاْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَٰكِن يُنَزِّلُ بِقَدَرٖ مَّا يَشَآءُۚ إِنَّهُۥ بِعِبَادِهِۦ خَبِيرُۢ بَصِيرٞ
27(Here is a sign of the Wisdom of Allah). And if Allah had given provision in abundance to His (all) slaves, they would definitely have created mischief in the world. But He sends down in due measure what He wills. Indeed, He is Well-Acquainted, All-Seer (of the benefits) of His slaves.
27The reason for descending the verse
This verse was revealed about some people amongst the folk of the Platform (Ahl al-Suffah) who wished to have an expansion of this worldly life and riches. (Al-Wahidi,Reasons of Revelation)
