About the Surah

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

By the morning hours (i.e. after sun rise).

By the night when it becomes still (and complete darkness prevails).

 [O Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)!] Your Creator has neither forsaken you, nor is He displeased with you. (Hence, revelations will keep coming to you. This is the worldly Favour for you).

       And your Hereafter (or end) will be even better for you than the worldly life (or beginning).

And your Creator will soon bestow upon you many Favours (Here and in the Hereafter) and you will be pleased.

[O Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)!] Did He not find you an orphan, then He gave you refuge?

And He found you unaware (of Islam), then guided you.

And He found you poor, then made you self-sufficient (with contentment).

Hence, don’t be harsh with the orphan.

And don’t be rude to the beggar.

And keep mentioning (with gratefulness) the Favours of your Creator (regularly).
