About the Surah

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

By the sun and its light.

By the moon as it follows the sun.

By the day as it shows (the sun’s) light.

By the night which covers the (sun).

By the heaven and Him Who built it.

By the earth and Him Who spread it.

By the soul (of a man) and Him Who created man in the most proportionate form.

Then He (Allah) showed him what the wrong path is and what the right path is.

He who purifies himself (by obeying Allah) is, indeed, success-ful.

And he who disobeys (Allah), definitely fails

The Thamud (people) denied (their Prophet) by (their) trans-gression

When the cruelest among them came forward (with the intention to kill the she-camel).

       Then the Messenger of Allah [Salih ( )] said to them: “(Respect) the she-camel of Allah and its turn to drink water.”

But they denied their Prophet and killed the she-camel. Hence, their Creator destroyed them because of their sins and (by destroying this community) levelled it up.

And He (Allah) did not fear the consequences of it (i.e. nobody can take revenge from Him).
