لِّلَّهِ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ يَخۡلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُۚ يَهَبُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ إِنَٰثٗا وَيَهَبُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ ٱلذُّكُورَ 49

49        The Sovereignty of the heaven and the earth belongs to Allah. He creates what He wills. He gives female (children) to whom He wills and male (children) to whom He wills.

أَوۡ يُزَوِّجُهُمۡ ذُكۡرَانٗا وَإِنَٰثٗاۖ وَيَجۡعَلُ مَن يَشَآءُ عَقِيمًاۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمٞ قَدِيرٞ 50

50        Or He gives both males and females, and He keeps barren whom He wills. Indeed, He is All-Knower, and is Able to do all things.

۞وَمَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ أَن يُكَلِّمَهُ ٱللَّهُ إِلَّا وَحۡيًا أَوۡ مِن وَرَآيِٕ حِجَابٍ أَوۡ يُرۡسِلَ رَسُولٗا فَيُوحِيَ بِإِذۡنِهِۦ مَا يَشَآءُۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيٌّ حَكِيمٞ 51

51        It is not possible for any human being (in present condition) to speak to Allah except by revelation or behind a screen [as was done by Musa (PBUH)] or He sends an angel who conveys Allah’s desired message with the Permission of Allah. Indeed, He is Most High, Most Wise.

وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَيۡكَ رُوحٗا مِّنۡ أَمۡرِنَاۚ مَا كُنتَ تَدۡرِي مَا ٱلۡكِتَٰبُ وَلَا ٱلۡإِيمَٰنُ وَلَٰكِن جَعَلۡنَٰهُ نُورٗا نَّهۡدِي بِهِۦ مَن نَّشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَاۚ وَإِنَّكَ لَتَهۡدِيٓ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ 52

52        [O Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)!] And thus We have sent to you a Revelation (and a Mercy) by Our Command. You had no idea what is a Book nor what is Faith. But We have made it (this Quran) a light with which We guide whosoever of Our slaves We will. And, Indeed, you are guiding (mankind) to a Straight Path. (Also see Surah As-Sajdah:44)

صِرَٰطِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِي لَهُۥ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ أَلَآ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ تَصِيرُ ٱلۡأُمُورُ 53

53        The Path of Allah to Whom belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. Bear in mind, and all matters eventually turn towards Allah (for decision).   

حمٓ 1

1 Ha-Mim (Only Allah knows their meanings).

وَٱلۡكِتَٰبِ ٱلۡمُبِينِ 2

2 By this Book which makes things clear.

إِنَّا جَعَلۡنَٰهُ قُرۡءَٰنًا عَرَبِيّٗا لَّعَلَّكُمۡ تَعۡقِلُونَ 3

3 Indeed, We made it a Quran in Arabic so that you may understand (its good news and warnings).

وَإِنَّهُۥ فِيٓ أُمِّ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ لَدَيۡنَا لَعَلِيٌّ حَكِيمٌ 4

4 And, indeed, this Quran is in the mother of the Book (i.e. Al-Lauh al-Mahfuz) with Us and is highly esteemed, full of wisdom.

أَفَنَضۡرِبُ عَنكُمُ ٱلذِّكۡرَ صَفۡحًا أَن كُنتُمۡ قَوۡمٗا مُّسۡرِفِينَ 5

5 Shall We then take away the Reminder (this Quran) from you since you are extremely  transgressing people? (In spite of your denial We shall preach, so that it benefits the believers and serves as a proof against transgressors).

وَكَمۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن نَّبِيّٖ فِي ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ 6

6 We have sent many Prophets to the earlier people (in spite of their denial). (The chain of Prophethood was not stopped because of their denial).

وَمَا يَأۡتِيهِم مِّن نَّبِيٍّ إِلَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ 7

7 And whenever a Prophet came to them they used to mock him.

فَأَهۡلَكۡنَآ أَشَدَّ مِنۡهُم بَطۡشٗا وَمَضَىٰ مَثَلُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ 8

8 So We destroyed people (due to their mocking) more powerfully than them (i.e. people of Makkah), and example of earlier people has passed (to learn a les-son).

وَلَئِن سَأَلۡتَهُم مَّنۡ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ لَيَقُولُنَّ خَلَقَهُنَّ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ 9

9 And if you ask them: “Who has created the heavens and the earth?” They will surely say: “The All-Mighty, the All-Knower created them.”

ٱلَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ مَهۡدٗا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمۡ فِيهَا سُبُلٗا لَّعَلَّكُمۡ تَهۡتَدُونَ 10

10 Who has made for you the earth like a (stable) floor, and made roadways in it so that you may be guided (to your destination)?

وَٱلَّذِي نَزَّلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءَۢ بِقَدَرٖ فَأَنشَرۡنَا بِهِۦ بَلۡدَةٗ مَّيۡتٗاۚ كَذَٰلِكَ تُخۡرَجُونَ 11

11 And Who sends down rain-water from the sky in due measure, then We re-vived the dead land with this water? Exactly this way you will be brought out (alive from your graves).

وَٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلۡأَزۡوَٰجَ كُلَّهَا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡفُلۡكِ وَٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِ مَا تَرۡكَبُونَ 12

12 And Who has created pairs of everything and has made ships for you and (has created) animals on which you ride.

لِتَسۡتَوُۥاْ عَلَىٰ ظُهُورِهِۦ ثُمَّ تَذۡكُرُواْ نِعۡمَةَ رَبِّكُمۡ إِذَا ٱسۡتَوَيۡتُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ وَتَقُولُواْ سُبۡحَٰنَ ٱلَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُۥ مُقۡرِنِينَ 13

13 So that you may ride on their backs and then you may remember the Favour of your Creator after you have seated yourself on them and say: “Glory to Him Who has put it under our control and we could never had it under our control on our own.”

وَإِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا لَمُنقَلِبُونَ 14

14 “And, indeed, we have to return to our Creator (that is why we are not lazy or arrogant in showing gratefulness to our Creator).”

وَجَعَلُواْ لَهُۥ مِنۡ عِبَادِهِۦ جُزۡءًاۚ إِنَّ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ لَكَفُورٞ مُّبِينٌ 15

15 And (inspite of proofs of the Oneness of Allah) they made slaves of Allah as part of Allah. Indeed, man is openly ungrateful (to his Creator).
