فِي جِيدِهَا حَبۡلٞ مِّن مَّسَدِۢ 5

5 In her neck is a strong rope of palm fibre (i.e. a strong chain in Hell-Fire. Bukhari Vol.6, page 469). 

قُلۡ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ 1

1 [O Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)!] Say: “He is Allah, (the) One.”

ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّمَدُ 2

2 “Allah – the Self-Sufficient (free of all needs, Whom all creatures need).”

لَمۡ يَلِدۡ وَلَمۡ يُولَدۡ 3

3 He does not beget, nor was He begotten.

وَلَمۡ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كُفُوًا أَحَدُۢ 4

4 There is none comparable to Him. (Surah Ash-Shura: 11 There is nothing like Him).”

قُلۡ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلۡفَلَقِ 1

1 Say: “I seek refuge with Allah, the Creator of the daybreak,  (i.e. I put my trust in Allah),

مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ 2

2 From the evil of what He has created,

وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ 3

3 And from the evil of darkness of the night when its darkness spreads,

وَمِن شَرِّ ٱلنَّفَّٰثَٰتِ فِي ٱلۡعُقَدِ 4

4 And from the evil of those who blow in the knots (to practice witchcraft),

وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ 5

5 And from the evil of the jealous person when he acts jealously.”

قُلۡ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ 1

1 Say: “I seek refuge with (Allah), the Creator of mankind, 

مَلِكِ ٱلنَّاسِ 2

2 The King of mankind,

إِلَٰهِ ٱلنَّاسِ 3

3 The God of mankind,

مِن شَرِّ ٱلۡوَسۡوَاسِ ٱلۡخَنَّاسِ 4

4 From the evil of the whisperer (i.e. devil) who runs away (when the re-membrance of Allah is made).

ٱلَّذِي يُوَسۡوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ ٱلنَّاسِ 5

5 Who (i.e. devil) whispers in the breasts of mankind.

مِنَ ٱلۡجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ 6

6 (Those whisperers could be) from jinn or men.”
