وَٱلَّٰٓـِٔي يَئِسۡنَ مِنَ ٱلۡمَحِيضِ مِن نِّسَآئِكُمۡ إِنِ ٱرۡتَبۡتُمۡ فَعِدَّتُهُنَّ ثَلَٰثَةُ أَشۡهُرٖ وَٱلَّٰٓـِٔي لَمۡ يَحِضۡنَۚ وَأُوْلَٰتُ ٱلۡأَحۡمَالِ أَجَلُهُنَّ أَن يَضَعۡنَ حَمۡلَهُنَّۚ وَمَن يَتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ يَجۡعَل لَّهُۥ مِنۡ أَمۡرِهِۦ يُسۡرٗا 4

4 (Here is more detail about the prescribed periods). And those of your women who have passed the age of monthly courses, so if you have doubt, for them the prescribed period is three months and also for those who have no course (i.e. who are immature). And those who are pregnant (divorced or their husbands are dead) their prescribed period is until they give birth to the child. And whosoever fears Allah, He will make his (every) affair easy for him

ذَٰلِكَ أَمۡرُ ٱللَّهِ أَنزَلَهُۥٓ إِلَيۡكُمۡۚ وَمَن يَتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ يُكَفِّرۡ عَنۡهُ سَيِّ‍َٔاتِهِۦ وَيُعۡظِمۡ لَهُۥٓ أَجۡرًا 5

5 That is the Command of Allah, which He has sent down to you. And whosoever fears Allah (in all matters), He will forgive His sins and will reward him immensely.             (There are more rights for di-vorced woman).

أَسۡكِنُوهُنَّ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ سَكَنتُم مِّن وُجۡدِكُمۡ وَلَا تُضَآرُّوهُنَّ لِتُضَيِّقُواْ عَلَيۡهِنَّۚ وَإِن كُنَّ أُوْلَٰتِ حَمۡلٖ فَأَنفِقُواْ عَلَيۡهِنَّ حَتَّىٰ يَضَعۡنَ حَمۡلَهُنَّۚ فَإِنۡ أَرۡضَعۡنَ لَكُمۡ فَ‍َٔاتُوهُنَّ أُجُورَهُنَّ وَأۡتَمِرُواْ بَيۡنَكُم بِمَعۡرُوفٖۖ وَإِن تَعَاسَرۡتُمۡ فَسَتُرۡضِعُ لَهُۥٓ أُخۡرَىٰ 6

6 Accommodate the divorced women where you are residing, according to your means. And don’t cause them stress to harm them (lest they are obliged to leave your place). If they are pregnant, then spend on them till they give birth to the child. If they agree to suckle your child for you, then pay their wages. And make mutual consultation (for the wages etc.) in a good manner. And if you create problems between yourselves, then another woman may suckle the child for you.

لِيُنفِقۡ ذُو سَعَةٖ مِّن سَعَتِهِۦۖ وَمَن قُدِرَ عَلَيۡهِ رِزۡقُهُۥ فَلۡيُنفِقۡ مِمَّآ ءَاتَىٰهُ ٱللَّهُۚ لَا يُكَلِّفُ ٱللَّهُ نَفۡسًا إِلَّا مَآ ءَاتَىٰهَاۚ سَيَجۡعَلُ ٱللَّهُ بَعۡدَ عُسۡرٖ يُسۡرٗا 7

7 A rich man should spend according to his means, and the man with limited means should spend according to what Allah has given him. Allah does not burden a person beyond what He has given him. Allah will soon change the hardship into comfort (for those who trust in Him). (Also see Surah Al-Baqarah:233)

وَكَأَيِّن مِّن قَرۡيَةٍ عَتَتۡ عَنۡ أَمۡرِ رَبِّهَا وَرُسُلِهِۦ فَحَاسَبۡنَٰهَا حِسَابٗا شَدِيدٗا وَعَذَّبۡنَٰهَا عَذَابٗا نُّكۡرٗا 8

8 And many communities re-volted against the Commands of their Creator and His messengers. So We took their account very se-verely and We punished them with a terrible torment.

فَذَاقَتۡ وَبَالَ أَمۡرِهَا وَكَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ أَمۡرِهَا خُسۡرًا 9

9 Hence, they tasted the punish-ment of their (evil) deeds and the result of their deeds was nothing but sheer loss.

أَعَدَّ ٱللَّهُ لَهُمۡ عَذَابٗا شَدِيدٗاۖ فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ يَٰٓأُوْلِي ٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْۚ قَدۡ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ إِلَيۡكُمۡ ذِكۡرٗا 10

10 Allah has prepared for them a severe torment. So fear Allah. O sensible people who have believed! Indeed, Allah has sent down to you a Reminder (this Quran).             (And this Reminder is brought to you by)

رَّسُولٗا يَتۡلُواْ عَلَيۡكُمۡ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ مُبَيِّنَٰتٖ لِّيُخۡرِجَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ مِنَ ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ إِلَى ٱلنُّورِۚ وَمَن يُؤۡمِنۢ بِٱللَّهِ وَيَعۡمَلۡ صَٰلِحٗا يُدۡخِلۡهُ جَنَّٰتٖ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدٗاۖ قَدۡ أَحۡسَنَ ٱللَّهُ لَهُۥ رِزۡقًا 11

11 the Messenger who recites to you clear revelations of Allah so that he brings those who believe and do good deeds from darkness (i.e. from various forms of ignorance) into light. And whosoever will believe and do good deeds, Allah will admit him into Gardens beneath which rivers flow (Paradise), to reside there forever. Indeed, Allah has granted him a fantastic provision.

ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ سَبۡعَ سَمَٰوَٰتٖ وَمِنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مِثۡلَهُنَّۖ يَتَنَزَّلُ ٱلۡأَمۡرُ بَيۡنَهُنَّ لِتَعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ قَدۡ أَحَاطَ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٍ عِلۡمَۢا 12

12 Allah has created seven heavens and likewise earths (i.e. seven). Allah’s Commands are sent to all of them. (You are being informed about it) so that you bear in mind that Allah has power over everything and that Allah encompasses everything in His Knowledge. (Hence, it is mandatory to obey such Great Allah).

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِيُّ لِمَ تُحَرِّمُ مَآ أَحَلَّ ٱللَّهُ لَكَۖ تَبۡتَغِي مَرۡضَاتَ أَزۡوَٰجِكَۚ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ 1

1 O Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)! Why do you make unlawful for youself that which Allah has made lawful, in order to please your wives? And Allah is Very-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

قَدۡ فَرَضَ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمۡ تَحِلَّةَ أَيۡمَٰنِكُمۡۚ وَٱللَّهُ مَوۡلَىٰكُمۡۖ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ 2

2 Allah has prescribed for you to break your oaths (by paying penalty). Allah is your Protector and He is the All-Knower, the All-Wise.

وَإِذۡ أَسَرَّ ٱلنَّبِيُّ إِلَىٰ بَعۡضِ أَزۡوَٰجِهِۦ حَدِيثٗا فَلَمَّا نَبَّأَتۡ بِهِۦ وَأَظۡهَرَهُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡهِ عَرَّفَ بَعۡضَهُۥ وَأَعۡرَضَ عَنۢ بَعۡضٖۖ فَلَمَّا نَبَّأَهَا بِهِۦ قَالَتۡ مَنۡ أَنۢبَأَكَ هَٰذَاۖ قَالَ نَبَّأَنِيَ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ ٱلۡخَبِيرُ 3

3 And (remember) when the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) told secretly about a matter to one of his wives [Hafsah ()], then she disclosed it to another [i.e. Aisha ()]. And Allah informed (about this disclosure) to his Messenger (through revelation). Then the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned part of this disclosure to her [Hafsah ()] and avoided part of it. She (surprisingly) said: “Who told you this?” The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The All-Knower, the Well Acquainted (Allah) has informed me.”

إِن تَتُوبَآ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ فَقَدۡ صَغَتۡ قُلُوبُكُمَاۖ وَإِن تَظَٰهَرَا عَلَيۡهِ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ مَوۡلَىٰهُ وَجِبۡرِيلُ وَصَٰلِحُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَۖ وَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ بَعۡدَ ذَٰلِكَ ظَهِيرٌ 4

4 If you two [wives of the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)] turn in repentance to Allah (it will be better for you). Indeed, your hearts have inclined [to like something which the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) does not like – Fath al-Qadeer]. But if you continue to back each other against the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him), then, indeed, Allah is his Protector, and Jibrael (Û), and the righteous among the believers, and the angels are his helpers too.

عَسَىٰ رَبُّهُۥٓ إِن طَلَّقَكُنَّ أَن يُبۡدِلَهُۥٓ أَزۡوَٰجًا خَيۡرٗا مِّنكُنَّ مُسۡلِمَٰتٖ مُّؤۡمِنَٰتٖ قَٰنِتَٰتٖ تَٰٓئِبَٰتٍ عَٰبِدَٰتٖ سَٰٓئِحَٰتٖ ثَيِّبَٰتٖ وَأَبۡكَارٗا 5

5 If he divorces you, then his Creator will replace for him better wives than you – Muslims, believ-ers, obedient, repentant, worship-ping Allah sincerely, regular in fast-ing (or emigrants for Allah’s sake), previously married and virgins.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ قُوٓاْ أَنفُسَكُمۡ وَأَهۡلِيكُمۡ نَارٗا وَقُودُهَا ٱلنَّاسُ وَٱلۡحِجَارَةُ عَلَيۡهَا مَلَٰٓئِكَةٌ غِلَاظٞ شِدَادٞ لَّا يَعۡصُونَ ٱللَّهَ مَآ أَمَرَهُمۡ وَيَفۡعَلُونَ مَا يُؤۡمَرُونَ 6

6 O you who believe! Save yourselves and your familiesfrom the Hell-Fire whose fuel is men and stones over which are appointed stern and severe angels. They don’t disobey the commands they receive from Allah and they are always keen to do what they are commanded.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَا تَعۡتَذِرُواْ ٱلۡيَوۡمَۖ إِنَّمَا تُجۡزَوۡنَ مَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ 7

7 (It will be said to the dis-believers): “O you who disbelieve! Don’t make excuses this Day! You are being punished for what you used to do (in the worldly life).”

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ تُوبُوٓاْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ تَوۡبَةٗ نَّصُوحًا عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمۡ أَن يُكَفِّرَ عَنكُمۡ سَيِّ‍َٔاتِكُمۡ وَيُدۡخِلَكُمۡ جَنَّٰتٖ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ يَوۡمَ لَا يُخۡزِي ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّبِيَّ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مَعَهُۥۖ نُورُهُمۡ يَسۡعَىٰ بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَبِأَيۡمَٰنِهِمۡ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ أَتۡمِمۡ لَنَا نُورَنَا وَٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَآۖ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ 8

8 O you who believe! Turn to Allah with sincere repentance! Maybe Allah will remove your sins and admit you into Gardens beneath which rivers flow (i.e. Paradise). On that Day Allah will not disgrace the Prophet [Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)] and those who believe with him. The light (of their good deeds) will run in front of them and on their right hand side (since they will be holding their records of deeds in their right hands). They will say: “Our Creator! Keep our light intact (till we cross the slippery bridge over Hell) and grant us forgiveness. Indeed, you are Able to do all things.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِيُّ جَٰهِدِ ٱلۡكُفَّارَ وَٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَ وَٱغۡلُظۡ عَلَيۡهِمۡۚ وَمَأۡوَىٰهُمۡ جَهَنَّمُۖ وَبِئۡسَ ٱلۡمَصِيرُ 9

9 O Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)! Strive hard against the disbelievers and hypocrites, and be severe against them. Their (final) residence is Hell which is a very bad destination.

ضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلٗا لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ ٱمۡرَأَتَ نُوحٖ وَٱمۡرَأَتَ لُوطٖۖ كَانَتَا تَحۡتَ عَبۡدَيۡنِ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا صَٰلِحَيۡنِ فَخَانَتَاهُمَا فَلَمۡ يُغۡنِيَا عَنۡهُمَا مِنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيۡ‍ٔٗا وَقِيلَ ٱدۡخُلَا ٱلنَّارَ مَعَ ٱلدَّٰخِلِينَ 10

10 Allah gives example of the wife of Nuh ( peace be upon him )and the wife of Lut ( peace be upon him )(as reminders) for the disbelievers. They were under Our righteous slaves but they both betrayed (i.e. were hypocrites). Hence, both (our righteous slaves) could not protect their respective wives against Allah’s (punishment), and it was said: “Both (you ladies) enter the Fire along with those who have entered the Hell-Fire.”

وَضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلٗا لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱمۡرَأَتَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ إِذۡ قَالَتۡ رَبِّ ٱبۡنِ لِي عِندَكَ بَيۡتٗا فِي ٱلۡجَنَّةِ وَنَجِّنِي مِن فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَعَمَلِهِۦ وَنَجِّنِي مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ 11

11 And Allah gives example of the wife of Firaun for (the guidance) of the believers when she said: “My Creator! Build a house for me from You in Paradise and save me from Firaun and his (evil) activities and save me from the people who are wrong-doers.”
