Order in Al-Mushaf : 40
Ayah number : 8
8 “Our Creator! And make them enter the Paradise of everlasting Gardens which you have promised them and also their forefathers, their wives and their children who do good deeds. Indeed, you are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.” (Also see Surah At-Tur:21)
Ayah number : 9
9 “And save them from (the punishment of) sins, and whoever You saved from (the punishment of) sins that Day, you have, indeed, showered Your mercy on him.” And that is the supreme success.
Ayah number : 10
10 Indeed, it will be said to the disbelievers: “Allah’s anger is more than your anger within yourself, when you were invited to the Faith, then you (bluntly) denied (the truth).”
Ayah number : 11
11 (The disbelievers will) say: “Our Creator! You have made us die twice (i.e. once before birth in this world, and once after our birth), and you have given us life twice (i.e. one life in this world and one in the Hereafter. But we used to deny the life of the Hereafter). Now we confess our sins. So is there any way to get out (of this Hell-Fire, so that we go back to the worldly life and makeup for our faults)?” (Also see Surah Al-Baqarah:28)
Ayah number : 12
12 (The answer will be: “No”) This is because when Allah Alone was mentioned (i.e. the Oneness of Allah was mentioned), you used to deny it, and when some partners were joined with Him, you believed. So, the Judgement belongs to Allah (Alone), the Most High, the Most Great.
Ayah number : 13
13 It is He Who shows you His signs, and sends down provisions for you (through rain) from the sky. And none learns lesson (from these signs) except those who intend to turn (to Allah) in repentance.
Ayah number : 14
14 (Since the Oneness of Allah is proved by these signs). Hence, worship Allah by fulfilling religious obligations sincerely for Him Only, even though the disbelievers may hate it.
Ayah number : 15
15 (Allah is) the Owner of High Levels, the Owner of the Throne. He sends revelations by His command to any of His slaves whom He wills, so that he [the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)] may warn people of the Day of Meeting (i.e. the Day of Resurrection).
Ayah number : 16
16 On that Day when all of them will appear (i.e. come out of the graves), nothing of them will be hidden from Allah. To whom does the kingdom belong this Day? It is Allah’s, the One, the Supreme!
Ayah number : 17
17 This Day every person shall be rewarded according to his deeds. This Day no injustice (shall be done to anybody). Indeed, Allah is Swift in accountability (of others).
Ayah number : 18
18 [O Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)!] And warn them about the Day which is very near (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) when the hearts will reach the throats (with terror), full of sadness. The wrong-doers will have no friend, nor intercessor that could have any say (or be heard).
Ayah number : 19
19 Allah knows the cheating of the eyes and all that is concealed in the breasts.
Ayah number : 20
20 And Allah will judge with justice, while those whom they worship besides Allah, don’t have ability nor power to judge anything. Indeed, Allah is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer.
Ayah number : 21
21 Have they not travelled in the land to see the end of those (disbelievers) who were before them? They were superior in strength and they left signs in the land (e.g. monuments). But Allah seized them due to their sins and none could protect them from Allah.
Ayah number : 22
22 That was because the mes-sengers came to them with clear proofs, so they disbelieved in them. Hence, Allah seized them (with punishment). Indeed, Allah is All-Strong, Severe in Punishment.
Ayah number : 23
23 And, indeed, We sent Musa ( peace be upon him )with Our commands and clear proofs (miracles),
Ayah number : 24
24 To Firaun, Hamaan and Qarun, but they called (him): “A magician, a liar!” (Also see Surah Adh-Dhariyat:52 and 53)
Ayah number : 25
25 Then, when he brought them the truth from Us, they said: “Kill the sons of those who believe with him and let their women survive (to serve in the household work).” But the strategy of the disbelievers was totally useless [since in the end Musa ( peace be upon him )defeated the disbelievers].
Ayah number : 26
26 And Firaun said: “Leave me alone. I would like to kill Musa ( peace be upon him )and he should call his Creator (for help). I fear that he may change your religion or he may spread mischief in the land.”
Ayah number : 27
27 And Musa ( peace be upon him )said: “Indeed, I seek refuge in my Creator and your Creator from every arrogant who does not believe in the Day of Judgement”.
