وَتَرَىٰ كُلَّ أُمَّةٖ جَاثِيَةٗۚ كُلُّ أُمَّةٖ تُدۡعَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ كِتَٰبِهَا ٱلۡيَوۡمَ تُجۡزَوۡنَ مَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ 28

28 And (on that Day) you will see each nation humbled on its knees (due to horrors of that Day), and every group will be called to its Record (of deeds). On that Day you will be rewarded according to what you used to do.

هَٰذَا كِتَٰبُنَا يَنطِقُ عَلَيۡكُم بِٱلۡحَقِّۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا نَسۡتَنسِخُ مَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ 29

29 (It will be said to them): “This is Our Book which speaks about you with truth. Indeed, We used to get all your deeds written (by the angels in your worldly life).” (Also see Surah Al-Kahf:49)

فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ فَيُدۡخِلُهُمۡ رَبُّهُمۡ فِي رَحۡمَتِهِۦۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡمُبِينُ 30

30 So those who believed and did good deeds, then Allah would shower His Mercy on them. That will be an obvious success.

وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ أَفَلَمۡ تَكُنۡ ءَايَٰتِي تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡكُمۡ فَٱسۡتَكۡبَرۡتُمۡ وَكُنتُمۡ قَوۡمٗا مُّجۡرِمِينَ 31

31 And those who disbelieved, (it will be said to them): “Were not Our Verses recited to you? But you were arrogant and criminal people.”

وَإِذَا قِيلَ إِنَّ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقّٞ وَٱلسَّاعَةُ لَا رَيۡبَ فِيهَا قُلۡتُم مَّا نَدۡرِي مَا ٱلسَّاعَةُ إِن نَّظُنُّ إِلَّا ظَنّٗا وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمُسۡتَيۡقِنِينَ 32

32 When it was said to you: “Indeed, Allah’s Promise (of Resur-rection and reward and punish-ment) is true, and there is no doubt in the occurrence of the Day of Resurrection,” you said (carelessly): “We don’t know what is the Day of Resurrection, we consider it only a conjecture (or a guess), and we do not have firm belief in it.”

وَبَدَا لَهُمۡ سَيِّ‍َٔاتُ مَا عَمِلُواْ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ 33

33 (At that time) the evils of their deeds will appear in front of them, and they will be entrapped by that (the torment) which they used to mock. 

وَقِيلَ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ نَنسَىٰكُمۡ كَمَا نَسِيتُمۡ لِقَآءَ يَوۡمِكُمۡ هَٰذَا وَمَأۡوَىٰكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ 34

34 (It will be said to them): “This Day We will forget you (i.e. remove you from Our Mercy), as you forgot the Meeting of this Day of yours. And you will reside in the Fire and there is none to help you.”

ذَٰلِكُم بِأَنَّكُمُ ٱتَّخَذۡتُمۡ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ هُزُوٗا وَغَرَّتۡكُمُ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡيَاۚ فَٱلۡيَوۡمَ لَا يُخۡرَجُونَ مِنۡهَا وَلَا هُمۡ يُسۡتَعۡتَبُونَ 35

35 This (punishment) is because you used to make fun of the revelations of Al-lah and the worldly life deceived you. So this Day they shall not be taken out from Hell, nor shall they be given a chance to please Allah by repentance.

فَلِلَّهِ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَرَبِّ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ 36

36 Hence, all praise and thanks are due to Allah Alone, the Creator of the heav-ens and the Creator of the earth; the Creator of the universe.

وَلَهُ ٱلۡكِبۡرِيَآءُ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ 37

37 And His (Alone) is the Majesty and Greatness in the heavens and the earth, and He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

حمٓ 1

1 Ha-Mim (Only Allah knows their meanings).

تَنزِيلُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡحَكِيمِ 2

2 The revelation of the Book (this Quran) is from Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise (hence, all should ponder over its message).

مَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَأَجَلٖ مُّسَمّٗىۚ وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ عَمَّآ أُنذِرُواْ مُعۡرِضُونَ 3

3 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them (e.g. plasma) but with (perfect) wisdom and for a limited period. And the disbe-lievers turn away from which they are warned.

قُلۡ أَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَرُونِي مَاذَا خَلَقُواْ مِنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَمۡ لَهُمۡ شِرۡكٞ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِۖ ٱئۡتُونِي بِكِتَٰبٖ مِّن قَبۡلِ هَٰذَآ أَوۡ أَثَٰرَةٖ مِّنۡ عِلۡمٍ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ 4

4 [O Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) !] Say: “Think about those whom you worship besides Allah? Show me (also) what part of the earth they have created? Or do they have any share (in the creation of) the heavens? Bring me a (revealed) Book before this Quran, or some remnant of in-tellectual logic (which commands to worship idols) if you are truthful (in your claim)!”

وَمَنۡ أَضَلُّ مِمَّن يَدۡعُواْ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَن لَّا يَسۡتَجِيبُ لَهُۥٓ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ وَهُمۡ عَن دُعَآئِهِمۡ غَٰفِلُونَ 5

5 And who is more astray than one who calls others besides Allah while they (false deities) are unable to accept his supplication till the Day of Resurrection and they are even unaware of being called?

وَإِذَا حُشِرَ ٱلنَّاسُ كَانُواْ لَهُمۡ أَعۡدَآءٗ وَكَانُواْ بِعِبَادَتِهِمۡ كَٰفِرِينَ 6

6 And when people are gathered (on the Day of Resurrection), the false deities will become their enemies and will deny their worshipping. (Also see Surah Al-Ankabut:25)

وَإِذَا تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَايَٰتُنَا بَيِّنَٰتٖ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لِلۡحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَهُمۡ هَٰذَا سِحۡرٞ مُّبِينٌ 7

7 And when Our Clear Verses are recited to them (which are miracles and proof of your Prophethood), the disbelievers say about the truth (this Quran) when it reaches them. “This is an obvious magic!”

أَمۡ يَقُولُونَ ٱفۡتَرَىٰهُۖ قُلۡ إِنِ ٱفۡتَرَيۡتُهُۥ فَلَا تَمۡلِكُونَ لِي مِنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيۡ‍ًٔاۖ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا تُفِيضُونَ فِيهِۚ كَفَىٰ بِهِۦ شَهِيدَۢا بَيۡنِي وَبَيۡنَكُمۡۖ وَهُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ 8

8 Or do they say that he [Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) ] has fabricated it (and claims to have it from Allah)? Say: “If I have fabricated it (then Allah will destroy me) and you will not have any power to save me from Allah. Allah fully knows your (evil) conversation (about the Quran) among yourselves. He is Sufficient as witness between me and you (to judge this matter). And He is Very Forgiving, the Most Merciful.”

قُلۡ مَا كُنتُ بِدۡعٗا مِّنَ ٱلرُّسُلِ وَمَآ أَدۡرِي مَا يُفۡعَلُ بِي وَلَا بِكُمۡۖ إِنۡ أَتَّبِعُ إِلَّا مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَيَّ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٞ مُّبِينٞ 9

9 [O Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) !] Say: “I am not the first and unusual messenger of Allah (which is surprising you. There have been many messengers before me). I don’t know what will be done with me or with you (i.e. I am not claiming knowledge of the unseen). I follow that (in knowledge and action) which is revealed to me. And I am but a plain warner.”

قُلۡ أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ إِن كَانَ مِنۡ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ وَكَفَرۡتُم بِهِۦ وَشَهِدَ شَاهِدٞ مِّنۢ بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ عَلَىٰ مِثۡلِهِۦ فَ‍َٔامَنَ وَٱسۡتَكۡبَرۡتُمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهۡدِي ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ 10

10 Say: “Tell me! If this Quran is from Allah and you still deny it, while a wit-ness from the Children of Israel [i.e. Abdullah bin Salam (ؓ)] testified that it is like (Taurat) and he believed in it, and you remain arrogant (to believe in it).” Indeed, Allah does not guide the people who are wrong-doers.
