يَسۡ‍َٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرۡسَىٰهَاۖ قُلۡ إِنَّمَا عِلۡمُهَا عِندَ رَبِّيۖ لَا يُجَلِّيهَا لِوَقۡتِهَآ إِلَّا هُوَۚ ثَقُلَتۡ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ لَا تَأۡتِيكُمۡ إِلَّا بَغۡتَةٗۗ يَسۡ‍َٔلُونَكَ كَأَنَّكَ حَفِيٌّ عَنۡهَاۖ قُلۡ إِنَّمَا عِلۡمُهَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ 187

187 They ask you about the time of occurrence of the Day of Judgement. Say: “Indeed, its knowledge is with my Creator only. None can reveal its time except Him. It will be a very heavy (i.e. big disaster) in the skies and the earth. It shall come upon you all of a sudden.” They ask you as if you have researched it (and know it). Say: “Its knowledge is with Allah (Alone) but most of the people don’t know it.”

قُل لَّآ أَمۡلِكُ لِنَفۡسِي نَفۡعٗا وَلَا ضَرًّا إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُۚ وَلَوۡ كُنتُ أَعۡلَمُ ٱلۡغَيۡبَ لَٱسۡتَكۡثَرۡتُ مِنَ ٱلۡخَيۡرِ وَمَا مَسَّنِيَ ٱلسُّوٓءُۚ إِنۡ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٞ وَبَشِيرٞ لِّقَوۡمٖ يُؤۡمِنُونَ 188

188 [O Muhammad ( may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him )!] Say: “I don’t have power to benefit or harm myself except as Allah wills. And if I had the knowledge of the Unseen, I would have amassed a lot of good for me, and no misfortune would have touched me. I am only a warner, and a conveyer of good news to the people who believe.”

۞هُوَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَكُم مِّن نَّفۡسٖ وَٰحِدَةٖ وَجَعَلَ مِنۡهَا زَوۡجَهَا لِيَسۡكُنَ إِلَيۡهَاۖ فَلَمَّا تَغَشَّىٰهَا حَمَلَتۡ حَمۡلًا خَفِيفٗا فَمَرَّتۡ بِهِۦۖ فَلَمَّآ أَثۡقَلَت دَّعَوَا ٱللَّهَ رَبَّهُمَا لَئِنۡ ءَاتَيۡتَنَا صَٰلِحٗا لَّنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ 189

189 It is He Who has created you from a single person [Adam ( peace be upon him )], and (then) He has created from him his wife (Hawwa), so that he may live lovingly with her. When he (a disbeliever from Adam’s offspring – Tafsir Ibn-Kathir) had sexual relation with his wife, she became pregnant and she car-ried around her light pregnancy. Then when it became heavy, they prayed to Al-lah Who is their Creator, (saying): “If you grant us a pious child, we shall, in-deed, be very grateful.” (Also Surah Ar-Rum:21)

فَلَمَّآ ءَاتَىٰهُمَا صَٰلِحٗا جَعَلَا لَهُۥ شُرَكَآءَ فِيمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمَاۚ فَتَعَٰلَى ٱللَّهُ عَمَّا يُشۡرِكُونَ 190

190 When He granted them a good child (in all aspects), they started making partners with Allah in what He had bestowed upon them. High is Allah. Exalted above all that they make partners with Him.

أَيُشۡرِكُونَ مَا لَا يَخۡلُقُ شَيۡ‍ٔٗا وَهُمۡ يُخۡلَقُونَ 191

191 Do they make partners with Allah while those partners did not create any-thing rather they them-selves were created?

وَلَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ لَهُمۡ نَصۡرٗا وَلَآ أَنفُسَهُمۡ يَنصُرُونَ 192

192 And they cannot give them any form of help, nor can they help themselves.

وَإِن تَدۡعُوهُمۡ إِلَى ٱلۡهُدَىٰ لَا يَتَّبِعُوكُمۡۚ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيۡكُمۡ أَدَعَوۡتُمُوهُمۡ أَمۡ أَنتُمۡ صَٰمِتُونَ 193

193 And if you seek guidance from them, they don’t answer you (Fateh al-Qadeer). It is the same for you whether you call them or you remain silent.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ عِبَادٌ أَمۡثَالُكُمۡۖ فَٱدۡعُوهُمۡ فَلۡيَسۡتَجِيبُواْ لَكُمۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ 194

194 Indeed, those whom you worship besides Allah are mere slaves like you. Hence, go ahead call them. Then they should respond to your call, if you are truthful.

أَلَهُمۡ أَرۡجُلٞ يَمۡشُونَ بِهَآۖ أَمۡ لَهُمۡ أَيۡدٖ يَبۡطِشُونَ بِهَآۖ أَمۡ لَهُمۡ أَعۡيُنٞ يُبۡصِرُونَ بِهَآۖ أَمۡ لَهُمۡ ءَاذَانٞ يَسۡمَعُونَ بِهَاۗ قُلِ ٱدۡعُواْ شُرَكَآءَكُمۡ ثُمَّ كِيدُونِ فَلَا تُنظِرُونِ 195

195 (How can they respond to you when they have nothing to initiate an action). Do they have feet to walk with them? Or do they have hands to grasp (anything)? Or do they have eyes to see with them? Or do they have ears to hear with them? [O Muhammad ( may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him )!] Say: “Invite (so-called) partners (of Allah) and hatch a plot (to harm me), then don’t postpone your action a bit.”

إِنَّ وَلِـِّۧيَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِي نَزَّلَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَۖ وَهُوَ يَتَوَلَّى ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ 196

196 Indeed, my protector is Allah Who has sent down (this) Book (the Quran), and He is the helper of the righteous people.

وَٱلَّذِينَ تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦ لَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ نَصۡرَكُمۡ وَلَآ أَنفُسَهُمۡ يَنصُرُونَ 197

197 And those whom you worship besides Allah cannot help you nor can they help themselves.

وَإِن تَدۡعُوهُمۡ إِلَى ٱلۡهُدَىٰ لَا يَسۡمَعُواْۖ وَتَرَىٰهُمۡ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَيۡكَ وَهُمۡ لَا يُبۡصِرُونَ 198

198 And if you seek guidance from them, they don’t even hear, and you will see them looking towards you but they cannot see (since their eyes are artificial). 

خُذِ ٱلۡعَفۡوَ وَأۡمُرۡ بِٱلۡعُرۡفِ وَأَعۡرِضۡ عَنِ ٱلۡجَٰهِلِينَ 199

199 You pardon them and instruct them to do good, and turn away from the foolish people.

وَإِمَّا يَنزَغَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ نَزۡغٞ فَٱسۡتَعِذۡ بِٱللَّهِۚ إِنَّهُۥ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ 200

200 And if the whispering of Satan comes to you, to make you (somewhat an-gry), then seek refuge with Allah. Indeed, He is All-Hearer, All-Knower.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوۡاْ إِذَا مَسَّهُمۡ طَٰٓئِفٞ مِّنَ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ تَذَكَّرُواْ فَإِذَا هُم مُّبۡصِرُونَ 201

201 Indeed, when Satan brings an evil thought to the pious persons, they sponta-neously engage them-selves in remembrance of Allah and, they then, at once, see (things correctly).

وَإِخۡوَٰنُهُمۡ يَمُدُّونَهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡغَيِّ ثُمَّ لَا يُقۡصِرُونَ 202

202 And their brothers (i.e. Satans), push them deeper into ignorance, and they never stop doing it.

وَإِذَا لَمۡ تَأۡتِهِم بِ‍َٔايَةٖ قَالُواْ لَوۡلَا ٱجۡتَبَيۡتَهَاۚ قُلۡ إِنَّمَآ أَتَّبِعُ مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَيَّ مِن رَّبِّيۚ هَٰذَا بَصَآئِرُ مِن رَّبِّكُمۡ وَهُدٗى وَرَحۡمَةٞ لِّقَوۡمٖ يُؤۡمِنُونَ 203

203 And when you don’t bring them (their demanded) miracle, they say: “Why have you not brought it?” Say: “Indeed, I follow only what is revealed to me by my Creator, and it consists of many miracles from your Creator (e.g. each Surah is a miracle) and it is a guidance and mercy for those who believe.” 

وَإِذَا قُرِئَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ فَٱسۡتَمِعُواْ لَهُۥ وَأَنصِتُواْ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُرۡحَمُونَ 204

204 [O Muhammad ( may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him )! And re-mind them also] when the Quran is recited, listen to it attentively and remain silent during the recitation (to appreciate its miracles) and so that Allah’s mercy be showered on you (new or additional). 

وَٱذۡكُر رَّبَّكَ فِي نَفۡسِكَ تَضَرُّعٗا وَخِيفَةٗ وَدُونَ ٱلۡجَهۡرِ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡلِ بِٱلۡغُدُوِّ وَٱلۡأٓصَالِ وَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلۡغَٰفِلِينَ 205

205 [O Muhammad ( may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him )! Say to each one of them]. And engage yourself in the remembrance of Allah quietly (i.e. in your heart), humbly and with fear of Allah and with a slow voice, during the morning and in the evening (as a matter of habit) and don’t be one of those who are neglectful.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ عِندَ رَبِّكَ لَا يَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ عَنۡ عِبَادَتِهِۦ وَيُسَبِّحُونَهُۥ وَلَهُۥ يَسۡجُدُونَۤ۩ 206

206 Indeed, those who are near their Creator (i.e. angels) they are never too proud to worship their Creator, and they glorify His praise and prostrate them-selves before Him.
