أَفِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ أَمِ ٱرۡتَابُوٓاْ أَمۡ يَخَافُونَ أَن يَحِيفَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَرَسُولُهُۥۚ بَلۡ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ 50

50        Is there a disease in their hearts? Or do they doubt or fear lest Allah and His messenger would deal unjustly with them? In fact, they themselves are the wrong-doers.

إِنَّمَا كَانَ قَوۡلَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ إِذَا دُعُوٓاْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ لِيَحۡكُمَ بَيۡنَهُمۡ أَن يَقُولُواْ سَمِعۡنَا وَأَطَعۡنَاۚ وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡمُفۡلِحُونَ 51

51        Indeed, when the believers are called to Allah and His messenger to judge between them, they say: “We hear and we obey.” And such are the successful ones.

وَمَن يُطِعِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَيَخۡشَ ٱللَّهَ وَيَتَّقۡهِ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡفَآئِزُونَ 52

52        And whosoever obeys Allah and His messenger (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him), fears Allah and keeps his duty to Allah, so such are the successful ones.

۞وَأَقۡسَمُواْ بِٱللَّهِ جَهۡدَ أَيۡمَٰنِهِمۡ لَئِنۡ أَمَرۡتَهُمۡ لَيَخۡرُجُنَّۖ قُل لَّا تُقۡسِمُواْۖ طَاعَةٞ مَّعۡرُوفَةٌۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ خَبِيرُۢ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ 53

53        They swear by Allah their strongest oaths, stating: “If you order them, they would promptly leave their homes (to participate in Jihad).” Say: “Don’t swear. The extent of your obedience is known. Indeed, Allah is Well-acquainted with what you do.”

قُلۡ أَطِيعُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُواْ ٱلرَّسُولَۖ فَإِن تَوَلَّوۡاْ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيۡهِ مَا حُمِّلَ وَعَلَيۡكُم مَّا حُمِّلۡتُمۡۖ وَإِن تُطِيعُوهُ تَهۡتَدُواْۚ وَمَا عَلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ إِلَّا ٱلۡبَلَٰغُ ٱلۡمُبِينُ 54

54        Say: “Obey Allah and obey the messenger (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him), but if you turn away, then the messenger (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) is respon-sible for only what he is assigned to do and you are responsible for what is placed on you (i.e. accountability of your deeds). Hence, if you obey the messenger, then only you are rightly guided. The messenger’s duty is only to convey (the message) clearly. (Also Surah Ar-Rad:40)

وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنكُمۡ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَيَسۡتَخۡلِفَنَّهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ كَمَا ٱسۡتَخۡلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ وَلَيُمَكِّنَنَّ لَهُمۡ دِينَهُمُ ٱلَّذِي ٱرۡتَضَىٰ لَهُمۡ وَلَيُبَدِّلَنَّهُم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ خَوۡفِهِمۡ أَمۡنٗاۚ يَعۡبُدُونَنِي لَا يُشۡرِكُونَ بِي شَيۡ‍ٔٗاۚ وَمَن كَفَرَ بَعۡدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡفَٰسِقُونَ 55

55        Allah has promised those who believe and do good deeds, that He will make them the ruler in the land, as He did make rulers before them, and that He will firmly establish them to practice their religion freely which He has chosen for them. And He will change their fear and harassment into peace and security provided that they worship Me (Alone) and do not associate any partners in worship with Me. And whoever disbelieves after this, they are disobedient (to Allah).

وَأَقِيمُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُواْ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَأَطِيعُواْ ٱلرَّسُولَ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُرۡحَمُونَ 56

56        And perform Salat regularly, pay the poor-due and obey the messenger (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) (consistently) so that you may receive mercy (from Allah).

لَا تَحۡسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مُعۡجِزِينَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَمَأۡوَىٰهُمُ ٱلنَّارُۖ وَلَبِئۡسَ ٱلۡمَصِيرُ 57

57        Don’t consider that the dis-believers can escape (from Our punishment) in the earth. And they shall reside in Hell-Fire which is a terrible destination.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لِيَسۡتَ‍ٔۡذِنكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ مَلَكَتۡ أَيۡمَٰنُكُمۡ وَٱلَّذِينَ لَمۡ يَبۡلُغُواْ ٱلۡحُلُمَ مِنكُمۡ ثَلَٰثَ مَرَّٰتٖۚ مِّن قَبۡلِ صَلَوٰةِ ٱلۡفَجۡرِ وَحِينَ تَضَعُونَ ثِيَابَكُم مِّنَ ٱلظَّهِيرَةِ وَمِنۢ بَعۡدِ صَلَوٰةِ ٱلۡعِشَآءِۚ ثَلَٰثُ عَوۡرَٰتٖ لَّكُمۡۚ لَيۡسَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَلَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ جُنَاحُۢ بَعۡدَهُنَّۚ طَوَّٰفُونَ عَلَيۡكُم بَعۡضُكُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضٖۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمُ ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٞ 58

58        O you who believe! Your slaves and slave-girls and those who have not come to the age of puberty should ask your permission (for visiting you in your room) on three occasions: before Fajr Salat and during the mid-day rest, when you remove some of your clothes, and after Isha Salat. These three times are of privacy for you. Apart from these, there is no sin on you nor on them since you mutually visit each other as a routine at other occasions. Thus Allah describes His revelations in detail to you. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.

وَإِذَا بَلَغَ ٱلۡأَطۡفَٰلُ مِنكُمُ ٱلۡحُلُمَ فَلۡيَسۡتَ‍ٔۡذِنُواْ كَمَا ٱسۡتَ‍ٔۡذَنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمۡ ءَايَٰتِهِۦۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٞ 59

59        And when the children come to puberty, they should ask permission (for visitation) like those who are older to them. Thus Allah describes His revelations in detail to you. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.

وَٱلۡقَوَٰعِدُ مِنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ ٱلَّٰتِي لَا يَرۡجُونَ نِكَاحٗا فَلَيۡسَ عَلَيۡهِنَّ جُنَاحٌ أَن يَضَعۡنَ ثِيَابَهُنَّ غَيۡرَ مُتَبَرِّجَٰتِۢ بِزِينَةٖۖ وَأَن يَسۡتَعۡفِفۡنَ خَيۡرٞ لَّهُنَّۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٞ 60

60        And old ladies who don’t have wish (and hope) for marriage, it is no sin on them if they remove their (outer) clothing provided that they don’t mean to show their adornment. But if they refrain (from removing their outer clothing), it is better for them. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.

لَّيۡسَ عَلَى ٱلۡأَعۡمَىٰ حَرَجٞ وَلَا عَلَى ٱلۡأَعۡرَجِ حَرَجٞ وَلَا عَلَى ٱلۡمَرِيضِ حَرَجٞ وَلَا عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِكُمۡ أَن تَأۡكُلُواْ مِنۢ بُيُوتِكُمۡ أَوۡ بُيُوتِ ءَابَآئِكُمۡ أَوۡ بُيُوتِ أُمَّهَٰتِكُمۡ أَوۡ بُيُوتِ إِخۡوَٰنِكُمۡ أَوۡ بُيُوتِ أَخَوَٰتِكُمۡ أَوۡ بُيُوتِ أَعۡمَٰمِكُمۡ أَوۡ بُيُوتِ عَمَّٰتِكُمۡ أَوۡ بُيُوتِ أَخۡوَٰلِكُمۡ أَوۡ بُيُوتِ خَٰلَٰتِكُمۡ أَوۡ مَا مَلَكۡتُم مَّفَاتِحَهُۥٓ أَوۡ صَدِيقِكُمۡۚ لَيۡسَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ جُنَاحٌ أَن تَأۡكُلُواْ جَمِيعًا أَوۡ أَشۡتَاتٗاۚ فَإِذَا دَخَلۡتُم بُيُوتٗا فَسَلِّمُواْ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِكُمۡ تَحِيَّةٗ مِّنۡ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ مُبَٰرَكَةٗ طَيِّبَةٗۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمُ ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَعۡقِلُونَ 61

61        There is no restriction on the blind, nor on the lame, nor on the sick person, nor on yourselves, if you eat from your houses or the houses of your fathers, or the houses of your mothers, or the houses of your brothers, or the houses of your sisters, or the houses of your father’s brothers, or the houses of your father’s sisters, or the houses of your mother’s brothers or the houses of your mother’s sisters or from the houses of which you hold keys, or (from the houses of) your friends. There is no sin on you if you eat together or separately. However, when you enter a house, then greet one another with a greeting from Allah [i.e. Assalamu Alaikum (peace be upon you)] a blessed and a good greeting. Thus Allah describes His revelations in detail to you so that you may understand.

إِنَّمَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَإِذَا كَانُواْ مَعَهُۥ عَلَىٰٓ أَمۡرٖ جَامِعٖ لَّمۡ يَذۡهَبُواْ حَتَّىٰ يَسۡتَ‍ٔۡذِنُوهُۚ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَسۡتَ‍ٔۡذِنُونَكَ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦۚ فَإِذَا ٱسۡتَ‍ٔۡذَنُوكَ لِبَعۡضِ شَأۡنِهِمۡ فَأۡذَن لِّمَن شِئۡتَ مِنۡهُمۡ وَٱسۡتَغۡفِرۡ لَهُمُ ٱللَّهَۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ 62

62        The true believers are only those who believe in Allah and His messenger (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) and they stay in the company of the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) on the occasions when gathering is needed (for consultation etc), and they don’t leave the meeting without the permission of the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him). Hence, those who ask for your permission on such occasions are the true believers in Allah and His messenger (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him). So, if they ask your permission for some of their affairs, give permission to them whom you will, and ask Allah for their forgiveness. Indeed, Allah is Very-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

لَّا تَجۡعَلُواْ دُعَآءَ ٱلرَّسُولِ بَيۡنَكُمۡ كَدُعَآءِ بَعۡضِكُم بَعۡضٗاۚ قَدۡ يَعۡلَمُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَسَلَّلُونَ مِنكُمۡ لِوَاذٗاۚ فَلۡيَحۡذَرِ ٱلَّذِينَ يُخَالِفُونَ عَنۡ أَمۡرِهِۦٓ أَن تُصِيبَهُمۡ فِتۡنَةٌ أَوۡ يُصِيبَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ 63

63        Don’t make the calling of the messenger (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) as your calling one another [i.e. don’t address the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) as you address each other]. And Allah knows those among you who slip away secretly. Hence, those who oppose any of the messenger’s  commands, should be scared lest a trial befalls on them or a painful torment is inflicted on them.

أَلَآ إِنَّ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ قَدۡ يَعۡلَمُ مَآ أَنتُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ وَيَوۡمَ يُرۡجَعُونَ إِلَيۡهِ فَيُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا عَمِلُواْۗ وَٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٍ عَلِيمُۢ 64

64        Bear in mind, all that is in the heavens and the earth, indeed, belongs to Allah. He knows what condition you are in now, and the Day when they will be brought back to Him then He will inform them about what they did. And Allah is Knower of everything.  

تَبَارَكَ ٱلَّذِي نَزَّلَ ٱلۡفُرۡقَانَ عَلَىٰ عَبۡدِهِۦ لِيَكُونَ لِلۡعَٰلَمِينَ نَذِيرًا 1

1        Blessed is He Who sent down the criterion (of right and wrong i.e. the Quran) to His slave [Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)] so that he may be a warner to mankind and jinn. (Also Surah Al-Araf:158)

ٱلَّذِي لَهُۥ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَمۡ يَتَّخِذۡ وَلَدٗا وَلَمۡ يَكُن لَّهُۥ شَرِيكٞ فِي ٱلۡمُلۡكِ وَخَلَقَ كُلَّ شَيۡءٖ فَقَدَّرَهُۥ تَقۡدِيرٗا 2

2        He to Whom belongs the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, and He has not begotten any son and He has no partner in the Sovereignty, and He has created everything and fixed (suitable) quantity and quality of everything [i.e. (i) fixed the life and provision for everything in advance or (ii) everything has specific taste, colour etc].

وَٱتَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةٗ لَّا يَخۡلُقُونَ شَيۡ‍ٔٗا وَهُمۡ يُخۡلَقُونَ وَلَا يَمۡلِكُونَ لِأَنفُسِهِمۡ ضَرّٗا وَلَا نَفۡعٗا وَلَا يَمۡلِكُونَ مَوۡتٗا وَلَا حَيَوٰةٗ وَلَا نُشُورٗا 3

3        Yet they worship other gods besides Him while their gods created nothing, rather they themselves are created, and they are neither able to harm nor benefit themselves; and they are also not able to cause death, nor give life, nor are able to raise the dead.

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ إِنۡ هَٰذَآ إِلَّآ إِفۡكٌ ٱفۡتَرَىٰهُ وَأَعَانَهُۥ عَلَيۡهِ قَوۡمٌ ءَاخَرُونَۖ فَقَدۡ جَآءُو ظُلۡمٗا وَزُورٗا 4

4        And the disbelievers say: “This Quran is nothing but a lie that he [Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)] has fabricated and other people helped him in this. In fact, they (the disbelievers) are very unjust and big liars.

وَقَالُوٓاْ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ ٱكۡتَتَبَهَا فَهِيَ تُمۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِ بُكۡرَةٗ وَأَصِيلٗا 5

5        And they say: “(The Quran) is the tales of the ancient people which he has written down and they are dictated to him every morning and evening.”
