Order in Al-Mushaf : 26
Ayah number : 29
قَالَ لَئِنِ ٱتَّخَذۡتَ إِلَٰهًا غَيۡرِي لَأَجۡعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلۡمَسۡجُونِينَ 29
29 (Firaun) said: “If you choose a god other than me, I will certainly put you among the prisoners.”
Ayah number : 30
قَالَ أَوَلَوۡ جِئۡتُكَ بِشَيۡءٖ مُّبِينٖ 30
30 (Musa ( peace be upon him ) ] said: “Even if I bring you something obviously clear (and convincing)?”
Ayah number : 31
قَالَ فَأۡتِ بِهِۦٓ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ 31
31 (Firaun) said: “Show your proof. If you are from the truthful people.”
Ayah number : 32
فَأَلۡقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ ثُعۡبَانٞ مُّبِينٞ 32
32 So Musa ( peace be upon him ) threw his stick, and it suddenly became a serpent.
Ayah number : 33
وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِيَ بَيۡضَآءُ لِلنَّٰظِرِينَ 33
33 And he brought out his hand (from under the armpit), and it was white shinning for the on-lookers !
Ayah number : 34
قَالَ لِلۡمَلَإِ حَوۡلَهُۥٓ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَسَٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٞ 34
34 Firaun said to the chiefs around him: “Indeed, this is a well-versed magician.
Ayah number : 35
يُرِيدُ أَن يُخۡرِجَكُم مِّنۡ أَرۡضِكُم بِسِحۡرِهِۦ فَمَاذَا تَأۡمُرُونَ 35
35 “He wants to turn you out from your land by his magic. What is then your advice?”
Ayah number : 36
قَالُوٓاْ أَرۡجِهۡ وَأَخَاهُ وَٱبۡعَثۡ فِي ٱلۡمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ 36
36 They said: “Delay any action against him and his brother (for a while) and send the peons (i.e. your employees) to all the cities.
Ayah number : 37
يَأۡتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمٖ 37
37 “To bring to you all the well-versed magicians.”
Ayah number : 38
فَجُمِعَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَٰتِ يَوۡمٖ مَّعۡلُومٖ 38
38 Hence, the magicians were gathered at a promised time on an appointed day.
Ayah number : 39
وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلۡ أَنتُم مُّجۡتَمِعُونَ 39
39 And it was announced to the people: “Are you also going to show up in this assembly?
Ayah number : 40
لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ ٱلسَّحَرَةَ إِن كَانُواْ هُمُ ٱلۡغَٰلِبِينَ 40
40 “So that we may follow the magicians (of Firaun), if they are the winners.”
Ayah number : 41
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ قَالُواْ لِفِرۡعَوۡنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجۡرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحۡنُ ٱلۡغَٰلِبِينَ 41
41 So when the magicians arrived, they said to Firaun: “Will there be a reward for us if we were the winners?”
Ayah number : 42
قَالَ نَعَمۡ وَإِنَّكُمۡ إِذٗا لَّمِنَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبِينَ 42
42 Firaun said: “Yes (you will get a big financial reward), and you will be my near (advisors).”
Ayah number : 43
قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰٓ أَلۡقُواْ مَآ أَنتُم مُّلۡقُونَ 43
43 Musa ( peace be upon him ) said to them: “Throw what you are going to throw!”
Ayah number : 44
فَأَلۡقَوۡاْ حِبَالَهُمۡ وَعِصِيَّهُمۡ وَقَالُواْ بِعِزَّةِ فِرۡعَوۡنَ إِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ ٱلۡغَٰلِبُونَ 44
44 So they threw their ropes and their sticks and said: “By the might of Firaun, we are definitely going to dominate.”
Ayah number : 45
فَأَلۡقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَلۡقَفُ مَا يَأۡفِكُونَ 45
45 Then Musa ( peace be upon him ) threw his stick. So it suddenly swallowed up all that they falsely displayed.
Ayah number : 46
فَأُلۡقِيَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَٰجِدِينَ 46
46 So the magicians fell down prostrate.
Ayah number : 47
قَالُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ 47
47 They said (openly): “We believe in the Creator of mankind, jinn and all that exists.
Ayah number : 48
رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ 48
48 “The Creator of Musa ( peace be upon him ) and Harun ( peace be upon him ) .”
