Order in Al-Mushaf : 26
Ayah number : 69
وَٱتۡلُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ نَبَأَ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ 69
69 And recite to them the story of Ibrahim ( peace be upon him ) .
Ayah number : 70
إِذۡ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوۡمِهِۦ مَا تَعۡبُدُونَ 70
70 When he said to his father and his people: “What (useless things) do you worship?”
Ayah number : 71
قَالُواْ نَعۡبُدُ أَصۡنَامٗا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَٰكِفِينَ 71
71 They said: “We worship idols, and we are (sincerely) devoted to them.”
Ayah number : 72
قَالَ هَلۡ يَسۡمَعُونَكُمۡ إِذۡ تَدۡعُونَ 72
72 Ibrahim ( peace be upon him ) said: “Do they hear you when you call them?
Ayah number : 73
أَوۡ يَنفَعُونَكُمۡ أَوۡ يَضُرُّونَ 73
73 “Or do they benefit you (if you worship them) or do they harm you (if you stop worshipping them)?”
Ayah number : 74
قَالُواْ بَلۡ وَجَدۡنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا كَذَٰلِكَ يَفۡعَلُونَ 74
74 They said: “We, in fact, found our forefathers doing this.”
Ayah number : 75
قَالَ أَفَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡبُدُونَ 75
75 Ibrahim ( peace be upon him ) said: “Did you ever ponder over that which you have been worshipping,
Ayah number : 76
أَنتُمۡ وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ ٱلۡأَقۡدَمُونَ 76
76 “You and your forefathers?”
Ayah number : 77
فَإِنَّهُمۡ عَدُوّٞ لِّيٓ إِلَّا رَبَّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ 77
77 “Indeed, they are enemies to me, (or I am fed up with those whom you worship) except (the worship of) the Creator of the universe.
Ayah number : 78
ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَنِي فَهُوَ يَهۡدِينِ 78
78 “Who has created me (and all others), so He guides me (to my benefits).
Ayah number : 79
وَٱلَّذِي هُوَ يُطۡعِمُنِي وَيَسۡقِينِ 79
79 “And it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink.
Ayah number : 80
وَإِذَا مَرِضۡتُ فَهُوَ يَشۡفِينِ 80
80 “And when I get ill, it is He Who cures me.
Ayah number : 81
وَٱلَّذِي يُمِيتُنِي ثُمَّ يُحۡيِينِ 81
81 “And it is He Who will cause me to die (at the appointed time), and then will bring me to life (again).
Ayah number : 82
وَٱلَّذِيٓ أَطۡمَعُ أَن يَغۡفِرَ لِي خَطِيَٓٔتِي يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِ 82
82 “And I hope, He will forgive me my faults on the Day of Resurrection.”
Ayah number : 83
رَبِّ هَبۡ لِي حُكۡمٗا وَأَلۡحِقۡنِي بِٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ 83
83 My Creator! Bestow upon me wisdom (i.e. Prophethood) and join me with the righteous people.
Ayah number : 84
وَٱجۡعَل لِّي لِسَانَ صِدۡقٖ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ 84
84 And make an honourable men-tion of me in the later gene-rations (so that my reward is increased).
Ayah number : 85
وَٱجۡعَلۡنِي مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ 85
85 And make me among inheritors of the Paradise of Delight.
Ayah number : 86
وَٱغۡفِرۡ لِأَبِيٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ 86
86 And (by making my father a believer) forgive him since he is from those who have gone astray.
Ayah number : 87
وَلَا تُخۡزِنِي يَوۡمَ يُبۡعَثُونَ 87
87 And don’t disgrace me on the Day of resurrection.
Ayah number : 88
يَوۡمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٞ وَلَا بَنُونَ 88
88 (Then the details of that Day is given, so that Ibrahim ( peace be upon him ) ’s people listen to it and fear Allah). That Day when neither wealth nor children will benefit.
