Order in Al-Mushaf : 81
Ayah number : 1
إِذَا ٱلشَّمۡسُ كُوِّرَتۡ 1
1 When the sun will be folded up and become without ligh (Hasan Basri). (Also see Verse 75:9)
Ayah number : 2
وَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ ٱنكَدَرَتۡ 2
2 And the stars shall fall (into the ocean) losing their light.
Ayah number : 3
وَإِذَا ٱلۡجِبَالُ سُيِّرَتۡ 3
3 And the mountains shall be made to move from their location (and fly like wool).
Ayah number : 4
وَإِذَا ٱلۡعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتۡ 4
4 And when the ten month preg-nant she-camel will be left unat-tended. (They are considered ex-tremely precious among the Arabs)
Ayah number : 5
وَإِذَا ٱلۡوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتۡ 5
5 And when the wild animals shall be gathered together.
Ayah number : 6
وَإِذَا ٱلۡبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتۡ 6
6 And when the seas shall be set ablaze (with the Command of Allah).
Ayah number : 7
وَإِذَا ٱلنُّفُوسُ زُوِّجَتۡ 7
7 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies.
Ayah number : 8
وَإِذَا ٱلۡمَوۡءُۥدَةُ سُئِلَتۡ 8
8 And when the buried alive young girl will be questioned.
Ayah number : 9
بِأَيِّ ذَنۢبٖ قُتِلَتۡ 9
9 For what sin was she killed?
Ayah number : 10
وَإِذَا ٱلصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتۡ 10
10 And when the Records of deeds will be opened.
Ayah number : 11
وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ كُشِطَتۡ 11
11 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and shall become open (so that things above it can be seen).
Ayah number : 12
وَإِذَا ٱلۡجَحِيمُ سُعِّرَتۡ 12
12 And when Hell shall be set ablaze.
Ayah number : 13
وَإِذَا ٱلۡجَنَّةُ أُزۡلِفَتۡ 13
13 And when Paradise shall be brought near.
Ayah number : 14
عَلِمَتۡ نَفۡسٞ مَّآ أَحۡضَرَتۡ 14
14 Then every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil).
Ayah number : 15
فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِٱلۡخُنَّسِ 15
15 So I swear by the stars that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night).
Ayah number : 16
ٱلۡجَوَارِ ٱلۡكُنَّسِ 16
16 And by the stars that move swiftly and hide themselves.
Ayah number : 17
وَٱلَّيۡلِ إِذَا عَسۡعَسَ 17
17 And by the night when it is about to end.
Ayah number : 18
وَٱلصُّبۡحِ إِذَا تَنَفَّسَ 18
18 And by the morning when it is about to break.
Ayah number : 19
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوۡلُ رَسُولٖ كَرِيمٖ 19
19 Indeed, this is the Word or rev-e-la-tions (brought by) an esteemed messenger [Jibrael ( peace be upon him ), from Allah to Prophet Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)].
Ayah number : 20
ذِي قُوَّةٍ عِندَ ذِي ٱلۡعَرۡشِ مَكِينٖ 20
20 He [Jibrael ( peace be upon him )] is powerful, and is highly honoured in the presence of the Owner of the Throne (i.e. Allah).
