وَكَأَيِّن مِّنۡ ءَايَةٖ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ يَمُرُّونَ عَلَيۡهَا وَهُمۡ عَنۡهَا مُعۡرِضُونَ 105

105        (Just like they don’t believe in your Prophethood, similarly they don’t believe in the Oneness of Allah) And how many signs in the heavens and the earth they come across, but they don’t pay any attention to them (i.e. don’t ponder over them).

وَمَا يُؤۡمِنُ أَكۡثَرُهُم بِٱللَّهِ إِلَّا وَهُم مُّشۡرِكُونَ 106

106        And most of the people, even though they believe in Allah, they also ascribe partners in worship with Him.

أَفَأَمِنُوٓاْ أَن تَأۡتِيَهُمۡ غَٰشِيَةٞ مِّنۡ عَذَابِ ٱللَّهِ أَوۡ تَأۡتِيَهُمُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ بَغۡتَةٗ وَهُمۡ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ 107

107        Do they feel secure from some torment coming against them from the torments of Allah, or from the coming of the Day of Judgement all of a sudden while they are not aware of it?

قُلۡ هَٰذِهِۦ سَبِيلِيٓ أَدۡعُوٓاْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِۚ عَلَىٰ بَصِيرَةٍ أَنَا۠ وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَنِيۖ وَسُبۡحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ 108

108        [O Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)!] Say: “This is my way. I and my followers invite you to Allah with firm Faith and confidence. And Allah is above all that they ascribe partners with Him and I am not one who associates partners in worship with Allah.

وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ إِلَّا رِجَالٗا نُّوحِيٓ إِلَيۡهِم مِّنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡقُرَىٰٓۗ أَفَلَمۡ يَسِيرُواْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَيَنظُرُواْ كَيۡفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡۗ وَلَدَارُ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ خَيۡرٞ لِّلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوۡاْۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ 109

109        And We did not send before you in any community (as messengers) but they were men and We sent revelations to them. Have they not travelled in the land and observed what was the (bad) end of those who were (disbelievers) before them? (This worldly life is temporary) and, indeed, the home of the Hereafter is much superior for those who fear Allah. Don’t you understand (this difference between the two lives)?

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا ٱسۡتَيۡ‍َٔسَ ٱلرُّسُلُ وَظَنُّوٓاْ أَنَّهُمۡ قَدۡ كُذِبُواْ جَآءَهُمۡ نَصۡرُنَا فَنُجِّيَ مَن نَّشَآءُۖ وَلَا يُرَدُّ بَأۡسُنَا عَنِ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ 110

110        When messengers were about to lose hope and thought that they have been denied, then Our help reached them suddenly. We saved whom We willed (i.e. believers). And Our punishment cannot be removed from the criminals (i.e. disbelievers). (Hence, it will come to the disbelievers of Makkah too).

لَقَدۡ كَانَ فِي قَصَصِهِمۡ عِبۡرَةٞ لِّأُوْلِي ٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِۗ مَا كَانَ حَدِيثٗا يُفۡتَرَىٰ وَلَٰكِن تَصۡدِيقَ ٱلَّذِي بَيۡنَ يَدَيۡهِ وَتَفۡصِيلَ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ وَهُدٗى وَرَحۡمَةٗ لِّقَوۡمٖ يُؤۡمِنُونَ 111

111        Indeed, in these stories (of Prophets and previous communities) there is a great lesson for the people of understanding. It (this Quran) is not a fabricated statement but it confirms (the Books) revealed before it, and there is detail of every important matter in it and it is a guidance and a mercy for the  people who believe. (Hence, it is a must to seek advice from such a fantastic Book).

الٓمٓرۚ تِلۡكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِۗ وَٱلَّذِيٓ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ ٱلۡحَقُّ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ 1

1        Alif-Lam-Mim-Ra (Only Allah knows their meanings). These are the Verses of the Book (the Quran) and that which has been sent down to you [Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)] from your Creator is the (absolute) truth. (The people should believe in the truth) but most of the people don’t believe in it.

ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِي رَفَعَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ بِغَيۡرِ عَمَدٖ تَرَوۡنَهَاۖ ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلۡعَرۡشِۖ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ كُلّٞ يَجۡرِي لِأَجَلٖ مُّسَمّٗىۚ يُدَبِّرُ ٱلۡأَمۡرَ يُفَصِّلُ ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ لَعَلَّكُم بِلِقَآءِ رَبِّكُمۡ تُوقِنُونَ 2

2        (Major purpose of the Quran is to prove the Oneness of Allah. Some of the proofs are as follows). Allah has raised the skies without any pillars that you can see. Then, He rose above the Throne (really in a manner that suits His Majesty). And He has put the sun and the moon under His control, each running (on its orbit) for a fixed term. He plans and conducts all the affairs (in the universe). He explains the proofs in detail so that you might firmly believe in the meeting with your Creator (on the Day of Judgement). (Also Surah Al-Araf:54)

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِي مَدَّ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَجَعَلَ فِيهَا رَوَٰسِيَ وَأَنۡهَٰرٗاۖ وَمِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ جَعَلَ فِيهَا زَوۡجَيۡنِ ٱثۡنَيۡنِۖ يُغۡشِي ٱلَّيۡلَ ٱلنَّهَارَۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ 3

3        And He spread out the earth and placed mountains and rivers on it. He created pairs of each fruit (e.g. sweet and bitter, small and big etc). He covers the day with the darkness of the night. Indeed, in these things, there are proofs (of the Oneness of Allah) for the people who reflect.

وَفِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ قِطَعٞ مُّتَجَٰوِرَٰتٞ وَجَنَّٰتٞ مِّنۡ أَعۡنَٰبٖ وَزَرۡعٞ وَنَخِيلٞ صِنۡوَانٞ وَغَيۡرُ صِنۡوَانٖ يُسۡقَىٰ بِمَآءٖ وَٰحِدٖ وَنُفَضِّلُ بَعۡضَهَا عَلَىٰ بَعۡضٖ فِي ٱلۡأُكُلِۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَعۡقِلُونَ 4

4        And there are adjacent pieces of land (but they are different from each other, one is fertile and the other is not), and there are gardens of vines, and (different) green crops. And there are palm trees; some have many stems and branches (e.g. fig tree) and others have only one stem. Although all of them receive the same water but We make the quality of the fruit of some of them superior to others. In these things there are proofs (of the Oneness of Allah) for the sensible people.

۞وَإِن تَعۡجَبۡ فَعَجَبٞ قَوۡلُهُمۡ أَءِذَا كُنَّا تُرَٰبًا أَءِنَّا لَفِي خَلۡقٖ جَدِيدٍۗ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِرَبِّهِمۡۖ وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ٱلۡأَغۡلَٰلُ فِيٓ أَعۡنَاقِهِمۡۖ وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِۖ هُمۡ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ 5

5        And [O Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)!] if you are surprised (by their denial of the Day of Judgement), then their following statement is more surprising: “When we (die) and become dust, shall we then be raised as a new creation?” They are those who have disbelieved in their Creator. They will have yokes in their necks and they will be residents of Hell-Fire and they will be there forever.

وَيَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَكَ بِٱلسَّيِّئَةِ قَبۡلَ ٱلۡحَسَنَةِ وَقَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِن قَبۡلِهِمُ ٱلۡمَثُلَٰتُۗ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَذُو مَغۡفِرَةٖ لِّلنَّاسِ عَلَىٰ ظُلۡمِهِمۡۖ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَشَدِيدُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ 6

6        And they demand from you [O Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)!] to hasten the evil (i.e. punishment) before the good, while many exemplary (punishments) have been inflicted before them. And, indeed, your Creator is full of Forgiveness for mankind in spite of their (inten-tional) wrong-doings. And, indeed, your Creator is also Severe in punishment. (Also Surah Fatir:45)

وَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَوۡلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيۡهِ ءَايَةٞ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦٓۗ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرٞۖ وَلِكُلِّ قَوۡمٍ هَادٍ 7

7        And the disbelievers [who deny the Prophethood of Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)] say: “Why was (our de-manded) miracle not sent down from his Creator?” (you are not the owner of miracles) You are only a warner (i.e. a Prophet). (You are not any new Prophet) and to every community there has been a guide (or a Prophet).

ٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ مَا تَحۡمِلُ كُلُّ أُنثَىٰ وَمَا تَغِيضُ ٱلۡأَرۡحَامُ وَمَا تَزۡدَادُۚ وَكُلُّ شَيۡءٍ عِندَهُۥ بِمِقۡدَارٍ 8

8        Allah knows what every female bears, and the period of delivery which increases and decreases. And everything with Him is in (due) proportion (e.g. Allah knows how long is his life and how much provisions he will receive etc.) 

عَٰلِمُ ٱلۡغَيۡبِ وَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِ ٱلۡكَبِيرُ ٱلۡمُتَعَالِ 9

9        All-Knower of the Unseen and the seen, the Most Great, the Highly Exalted.

سَوَآءٞ مِّنكُم مَّنۡ أَسَرَّ ٱلۡقَوۡلَ وَمَن جَهَرَ بِهِۦ وَمَنۡ هُوَ مُسۡتَخۡفِۢ بِٱلَّيۡلِ وَسَارِبُۢ بِٱلنَّهَارِ 10

10        It is the same (for Allah) wheth-er you speak quietly or loudly and whether you hide yourself at night or walk around during the day.

لَهُۥ مُعَقِّبَٰتٞ مِّنۢ بَيۡنِ يَدَيۡهِ وَمِنۡ خَلۡفِهِۦ يَحۡفَظُونَهُۥ مِنۡ أَمۡرِ ٱللَّهِۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوۡمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُواْ مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمۡۗ وَإِذَآ أَرَادَ ٱللَّهُ بِقَوۡمٖ سُوٓءٗا فَلَا مَرَدَّ لَهُۥۚ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن دُونِهِۦ مِن وَالٍ 11

11        (Just as He Knows, similarly He guards you too). He has appointed security guards (i.e. angels), coming one after the other, in front of a person and behind him, to protect him, by the Command of Allah. Allah does not change the (good) condition of a people as long as they don’t change their state themselves (by committing sins). And when Allah intends to punish a people, it cannot be turned away, and they will not find any protector besides Allah.

هُوَ ٱلَّذِي يُرِيكُمُ ٱلۡبَرۡقَ خَوۡفٗا وَطَمَعٗا وَيُنشِئُ ٱلسَّحَابَ ٱلثِّقَالَ 12

12        He shows you the lightning which you fear (to strike you) and hope from it (for rain), and He creates the heavy clouds (which are full of water).

وَيُسَبِّحُ ٱلرَّعۡدُ بِحَمۡدِهِۦ وَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ مِنۡ خِيفَتِهِۦ وَيُرۡسِلُ ٱلصَّوَٰعِقَ فَيُصِيبُ بِهَا مَن يَشَآءُ وَهُمۡ يُجَٰدِلُونَ فِي ٱللَّهِ وَهُوَ شَدِيدُ ٱلۡمِحَالِ 13

13        And thunder glorifies Allah and angels too, due to His fear. And He sends thunderbolts (towards the land) and He strikes with it whom He wills and yet (the disbelievers) dispute about (the Oneness of) Allah. And He is Very Powerful and Severe in punishment. (Also Surah Al-Isra:44)
