Order in Al-Mushaf : 52
Ayah number : 46
يَوۡمَ لَا يُغۡنِي عَنۡهُمۡ كَيۡدُهُمۡ شَيۡٔٗا وَلَا هُمۡ يُنصَرُونَ 46
46 On that Day their (evil) strategy will not benefit them a bit nor will they be helped.
Ayah number : 47
وَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ عَذَابٗا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ 47
47 And, indeed, there is another punishment for the wrong-doers (as in Badr and in the graves), but most of them don’t understand it. (Also see Surah As-Sajdah:21)
Ayah number : 48
وَٱصۡبِرۡ لِحُكۡمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنَّكَ بِأَعۡيُنِنَاۖ وَسَبِّحۡ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ 48
48 [O Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)!] And wait patiently for the Command of your Creator, since, indeed, you are under Our eyes (i.e. under Our protection), and glorify the praise of your Creator when you get up [(i) from sleep or (ii) for Salat or (iii) from a meeting].
Ayah number : 49
وَمِنَ ٱلَّيۡلِ فَسَبِّحۡهُ وَإِدۡبَٰرَ ٱلنُّجُومِ 49
49 And glorify the praises of your Creator during the night [i.e. Tahajjud which the Prophet(may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) did regularly] and at the setting of the stars (i.e. sunnah salat before obligatory Fajr Salat).
Order in Al-Mushaf : 53
Ayah number : 1
وَٱلنَّجۡمِ إِذَا هَوَىٰ 1
1 By the star when it goes down (and disappears).
Ayah number : 2
مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمۡ وَمَا غَوَىٰ 2
2 (The answer of the above swearing is that) your companion [Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)] has neither gone astray nor is he on the wrong Path.
Ayah number : 3
وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلۡهَوَىٰٓ 3
3 And he does not speak from his own desires.
Ayah number : 4
إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحۡيٞ يُوحَىٰ 4
4 (It is) only a revelation revealed (to him).
Ayah number : 5
عَلَّمَهُۥ شَدِيدُ ٱلۡقُوَىٰ 5
5 (This revelation is) taught to him by a very powerful [angel Jibrael (peace be upon him ) sent by Allah].
Ayah number : 6
ذُو مِرَّةٖ فَٱسۡتَوَىٰ 6
6 He is (by birth) very strong (in body and mind and Satan cannot interfere during the revelations to the Prophet). So he [Jibrael(peace be upon him )] stood up straight.
Ayah number : 7
وَهُوَ بِٱلۡأُفُقِ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ 7
7 While he [Jibrael (peace be upon him )] was in the highest part of the horizon (Ibn Kathir).
Ayah number : 8
ثُمَّ دَنَا فَتَدَلَّىٰ 8
8 Then he [Jibrael (peace be upon him )] came (down to earth) and went close to him [Prophet Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)].
Ayah number : 9
فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوۡسَيۡنِ أَوۡ أَدۡنَىٰ 9
9 So he was at a distance of two bows’ length or (even) nearer.
Ayah number : 10
فَأَوۡحَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ عَبۡدِهِۦ مَآ أَوۡحَىٰ 10
10 Then he [Jibrael (peace be upon him )] deli-ver-ed to Allah’s slave [Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)] what (he was supposed) to deliver.
Ayah number : 11
مَا كَذَبَ ٱلۡفُؤَادُ مَا رَأَىٰٓ 11
11 [The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) saw Jibrael (peace be upon him ) in his real form and his heart was inspired by the Great Power of Allah]. What the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) saw, his heart did not deny it.
Ayah number : 12
أَفَتُمَٰرُونَهُۥ عَلَىٰ مَا يَرَىٰ 12
12 Do you then dispute with him [Prophet Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)] regard-ing what he saw?
Ayah number : 13
وَلَقَدۡ رَءَاهُ نَزۡلَةً أُخۡرَىٰ 13
13 And, indeed, the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) saw him [Jibrael (peace be upon him )] even another time (in his real form).
Ayah number : 14
عِندَ سِدۡرَةِ ٱلۡمُنتَهَىٰ 14
14 Near Sidrat-ul-Muntaha (a lote-tree in the seventh heaven).
Ayah number : 15
عِندَهَا جَنَّةُ ٱلۡمَأۡوَىٰٓ 15
15 The Paradise of Abode [i.e. Adam’s (peace be upon him ) ex-residence] is near it. (Fath al-Qadeer)
Ayah number : 16
إِذۡ يَغۡشَى ٱلسِّدۡرَةَ مَا يَغۡشَىٰ 16
16 When the lote-tree was cov-ered by what was covering (or fly-ing above) it.
