Order in Al-Mushaf : 56
Ayah number : 42
فِي سَمُومٖ وَحَمِيمٖ 42
42 They will be in stormy hot wind and boiling water.
Ayah number : 43
وَظِلّٖ مِّن يَحۡمُومٖ 43
43 And in the shadow of black smoke.
Ayah number : 44
لَّا بَارِدٖ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ 44
44 (That shadow is) neither cool, nor provides comfort.
Ayah number : 45
إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَبۡلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتۡرَفِينَ 45
45 (The reason for this torment is) Indeed, they used to have a luxurious life before this.
Ayah number : 46
وَكَانُواْ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلۡحِنثِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ 46
46 And they used to persist in committing great sins.
Ayah number : 47
وَكَانُواْ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابٗا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبۡعُوثُونَ 47
47 And they used to say: “When we die and are reduced to dust and bones, shall we then, really, be resurrected?”
Ayah number : 48
أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ 48
48 “And our forefathers too?”
Ayah number : 49
قُلۡ إِنَّ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ وَٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ 49
49 [O Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)!] Say: “Yes, indeed, those of earlier times and those of later times.”
Ayah number : 50
لَمَجۡمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَٰتِ يَوۡمٖ مَّعۡلُومٖ 50
50 “All will surely be gathered for the Meeting on the appointed Day.”
Ayah number : 51
ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمۡ أَيُّهَا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبُونَ 51
51 “Then, indeed, O you who had gone astray and were deniers (of Resurrection)!”
Ayah number : 52
لَأٓكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٖ مِّن زَقُّومٖ 52
52 “You will surely eat from the trees of Zaqqum (an extremely dis-tasteful tree).
Ayah number : 53
فَمَالُِٔونَ مِنۡهَا ٱلۡبُطُونَ 53
53 “Then fill your bellies with it.”
Ayah number : 54
فَشَٰرِبُونَ عَلَيۡهِ مِنَ ٱلۡحَمِيمِ 54
54 “Then drink boiling water on top of it.”
Ayah number : 55
فَشَٰرِبُونَ شُرۡبَ ٱلۡهِيمِ 55
55 “So you will drink that like thirsty camels!”
Ayah number : 56
هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِ 56
56 That will be their initial hos-pitality on the Day of Judgement. (This is to make fun of the dis-be--lievers). (Also see Surah Aal-Imran:21)
Ayah number : 57
نَحۡنُ خَلَقۡنَٰكُمۡ فَلَوۡلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ 57
57 We created you (the first time which you admit). Then why don’t you believe (in the Oneness of Allah, or in the resurrection)?
Ayah number : 58
أَفَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا تُمۡنُونَ 58
58 Tell Me about the semen that you emit.
Ayah number : 59
ءَأَنتُمۡ تَخۡلُقُونَهُۥٓ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡخَٰلِقُونَ 59
59 Do you create (a human being from) it or are We the Creator?
Ayah number : 60
نَحۡنُ قَدَّرۡنَا بَيۡنَكُمُ ٱلۡمَوۡتَ وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمَسۡبُوقِينَ 60
60 We have also fixed time for your death and We cannot be de-feated in it (i.e. We are capable of),
Ayah number : 61
عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمۡثَٰلَكُمۡ وَنُنشِئَكُمۡ فِي مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ 61
61 Creating in your place, others like you, and also creating you in (forms) that you do not know (i.e. monkeys etc).
