Order in Al-Mushaf : 89
Ayah number : 8
ٱلَّتِي لَمۡ يُخۡلَقۡ مِثۡلُهَا فِي ٱلۡبِلَٰدِ 8
8
Ayah number : 9
وَثَمُودَ ٱلَّذِينَ جَابُواْ ٱلصَّخۡرَ بِٱلۡوَادِ 9
9 And Thamud (people) who used to cut the rocks, in the valley (to make their dwellings).
Ayah number : 10
وَفِرۡعَوۡنَ ذِي ٱلۡأَوۡتَادِ 10
10 And Firaun and they had pegs, (i.e. He had big armies who fixed their tents with pegs).
Ayah number : 11
ٱلَّذِينَ طَغَوۡاْ فِي ٱلۡبِلَٰدِ 11
11 All of them transgressed (in the disobedience of Allah) in various lands.
Ayah number : 12
فَأَكۡثَرُواْ فِيهَا ٱلۡفَسَادَ 12
12 So they spread a lot of mischief there.
Ayah number : 13
فَصَبَّ عَلَيۡهِمۡ رَبُّكَ سَوۡطَ عَذَابٍ 13
13 Hence, Allah inflicted upon them severe torments (and made them garbage).
Ayah number : 14
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِٱلۡمِرۡصَادِ 14
14 Indeed, your Creator is Ever Watching (your deeds).
Ayah number : 15
فَأَمَّا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ إِذَا مَا ٱبۡتَلَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَأَكۡرَمَهُۥ وَنَعَّمَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّيٓ أَكۡرَمَنِ 15
15 (The state of mind of man is such that) when his Creator tests man and be-stows upon him honour and Favours, he says: “Allah has made me an honourable person.” (He does not realize that the given honour is to test him whether he is grateful to Allah or not).
Ayah number : 16
وَأَمَّآ إِذَا مَا ٱبۡتَلَىٰهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيۡهِ رِزۡقَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّيٓ أَهَٰنَنِ 16
16 And when He tests man by limiting his provisions (or means of livelihood), he says: “My Creator has put me to disgrace.”
Ayah number : 17
كَلَّاۖ بَل لَّا تُكۡرِمُونَ ٱلۡيَتِيمَ 17
17 Not at all. (Rather your own deeds caused you disgrace. Since) You don’t treat the orphan respect-fully.
Ayah number : 18
وَلَا تَحَٰٓضُّونَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلۡمِسۡكِينِ 18
18 And you don’t encourage (and help) others to feed the needy (if you don’t have the means to do so).
Ayah number : 19
وَتَأۡكُلُونَ ٱلتُّرَاثَ أَكۡلٗا لَّمّٗا 19
19 And you eat up the inheritance greedily (by lawful and unlawful ways).
Ayah number : 20
وَتُحِبُّونَ ٱلۡمَالَ حُبّٗا جَمّٗا 20
20 And love wealth dearly.
Ayah number : 21
كَلَّآۖ إِذَا دُكَّتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ دَكّٗا دَكّٗا 21
21 (You think there is going to be no accountability.) Not at all. When earth will be crushed into tiny particles and levelled up.
Ayah number : 22
وَجَآءَ رَبُّكَ وَٱلۡمَلَكُ صَفّٗا صَفّٗا 22
22 And when your Creator will come and the angels will come in rows.
Ayah number : 23
وَجِاْيٓءَ يَوۡمَئِذِۢ بِجَهَنَّمَۚ يَوۡمَئِذٖ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُ ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰ 23
23 And Hell will be brought near that Day. Man will realize (his mistakes) that Day. But what is the benefit of his realization now? (None!)
Ayah number : 24
يَقُولُ يَٰلَيۡتَنِي قَدَّمۡتُ لِحَيَاتِي 24
24 Man will say: “Alas! I wish I had sent forth good deeds for my life (in the Hereafter).”
Ayah number : 25
فَيَوۡمَئِذٖ لَّا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُۥٓ أَحَدٞ 25
25 So on that Day, none will punish as Allah will punish.
Ayah number : 26
وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُۥٓ أَحَدٞ 26
26 And none will bind (the dis-believers) as Allah will bind.
Ayah number : 27
يَٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفۡسُ ٱلۡمُطۡمَئِنَّةُ 27
27 (On the other hand it will be said:) “O you satisfied soul (who had no doubt or denial of Faith)!”
