Order in Al-Mushaf : 84
Ayah number : 17
وَٱلَّيۡلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ 17
17 And by the night and all that is covered by its darkness.
Ayah number : 18
وَٱلۡقَمَرِ إِذَا ٱتَّسَقَ 18
18 And by the moon when it becomes a full moon.
Ayah number : 19
لَتَرۡكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٖ 19
19 You shall definitely go from one stage to another (or from one difficulty to another in this life and in the Hereafter).
Ayah number : 20
فَمَا لَهُمۡ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ 20
20 What is the matter with them that they don’t believe?
Ayah number : 21
وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ لَا يَسۡجُدُونَۤ۩ 21
21 And when the Quran is recited to them, they don’t fall into prostration.
Ayah number : 22
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يُكَذِّبُونَ 22
22 In fact, the disbelievers are denying it.
Ayah number : 23
وَٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ 23
23 And Allah knows best what they hide in their hearts.
Ayah number : 24
فَبَشِّرۡهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ 24
24 So give them the glad tidings of a painful torment (it is to make fun of the disbelievers).
Ayah number : 25
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمۡ أَجۡرٌ غَيۡرُ مَمۡنُونِۢ 25
25 Except those who believe and do good deeds, for them is a non-ending reward (i.e. Paradise).
Order in Al-Mushaf : 85
Ayah number : 1
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلۡبُرُوجِ 1
1 By the sky holding the big stars.
Ayah number : 2
وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡمَوۡعُودِ 2
2 And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection).
Ayah number : 3
وَشَاهِدٖ وَمَشۡهُودٖ 3
3 And by those who are present (on Friday. All deeds performed on Friday will witness in the Hereafter) and by those who are gathered (on the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah for Hajj) – Imam Shawkani.
Ayah number : 4
قُتِلَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡأُخۡدُودِ 4
4 (Here is the answer of the above swearing). Cursed were the people of the Ditch (in the story of the Boy and the King in Muslim, vol.4, Hadith no.7148).
Ayah number : 5
ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلۡوَقُودِ 5
5 It was the fire fed with fuel.
Ayah number : 6
إِذۡ هُمۡ عَلَيۡهَا قُعُودٞ 6
6 When they were sitting around it (the fire).
Ayah number : 7
وَهُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفۡعَلُونَ بِٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ شُهُودٞ 7
7 And they were witnessing what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them).
Ayah number : 8
وَمَا نَقَمُواْ مِنۡهُمۡ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤۡمِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡحَمِيدِ 8
8 They were taking revenge from them (the believers) simply because they believed in Allah, the All-Mighty, the Worthy of All-Praise.
Ayah number : 9
ٱلَّذِي لَهُۥ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ شَهِيدٌ 9
9 To whom belongs the Sover-eignty of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over every-thing.
Ayah number : 10
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُواْ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمۡ يَتُوبُواْ فَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ ٱلۡحَرِيقِ 10
10 Indeed, those who torture the believing men and women, and then don’t repent (to Allah), they will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the burning Fire.
Ayah number : 11
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمۡ جَنَّٰتٞ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡكَبِيرُ 11
11 Indeed, those who believe and do good deeds, for them will be Gardens beneath which rivers flow (i.e. Paradise). That is the great success.
