إِنَّمَا قَوۡلُنَا لِشَيۡءٍ إِذَآ أَرَدۡنَٰهُ أَن نَّقُولَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ 40

40        Indeed, when We intend to do something, We simply say to it: “Be!” and it is done (there and then). (Also Surah An-Nahl:77)

وَٱلَّذِينَ هَاجَرُواْ فِي ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا ظُلِمُواْ لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُمۡ فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَا حَسَنَةٗۖ وَلَأَجۡرُ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ أَكۡبَرُۚ لَوۡ كَانُواْ يَعۡلَمُونَ 41

41        And those who emigrated for the Cause of Allah, after they have been wronged, We will definitely give them a good residence in this world (i.e. Madinah Munawwarah), but the reward of the Hereafter will be even greater, if they know.

ٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُواْ وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمۡ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ 42

42        Those that remained patient (inspite of extreme hardships) and did put their trust in Allah. (While emigrating they did not worry about where they will eat from).

وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ إِلَّا رِجَالٗا نُّوحِيٓ إِلَيۡهِمۡۖ فَسۡ‍َٔلُوٓاْ أَهۡلَ ٱلذِّكۡرِ إِن كُنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ 43

43        [O Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)!] And We did not send before you except men (as Our messengers) to whom We sent down revelations. So ask those who have the knowledge of the Scripture, if you don’t know it.

بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ وَٱلزُّبُرِۗ وَأَنزَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡكَ ٱلذِّكۡرَ لِتُبَيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ مَا نُزِّلَ إِلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَعَلَّهُمۡ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ 44

44        (We sent the messengers) with miracles and Books. And We have sent down this Quran to you [O Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)!] so that you may explain clearly the guidance sent down in it to the people, and so that they may ponder over it.

أَفَأَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مَكَرُواْ ٱلسَّيِّ‍َٔاتِ أَن يَخۡسِفَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ أَوۡ يَأۡتِيَهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ 45

45        Do those who hatch evil plots (against believers) feel secure that Allah will not sink them into the earth, or that the torment will not seize them from directions they do not perceive (as in battle of Badr)?

أَوۡ يَأۡخُذَهُمۡ فِي تَقَلُّبِهِمۡ فَمَا هُم بِمُعۡجِزِينَ 46

46        Or that Allah may catch them during their daily movement from one place to another (in an accident or disease), so they can not escape (from Allah’s punishment)?

أَوۡ يَأۡخُذَهُمۡ عَلَىٰ تَخَوُّفٖ فَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمۡ لَرَءُوفٞ رَّحِيمٌ 47

47        Or that He may catch them by causing fear in them (e.g. by famine, loss of wealth, health etc)? Your Creator is, indeed, full of Kindness, Most Merciful (postpones the punishment so that they have chance to repent).

أَوَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ إِلَىٰ مَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَيۡءٖ يَتَفَيَّؤُاْ ظِلَٰلُهُۥ عَنِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ وَٱلشَّمَآئِلِ سُجَّدٗا لِّلَّهِ وَهُمۡ دَٰخِرُونَ 48

48        Have they not observed any-thing that Allah has created? How its shadow inclines to the right and to the left, making prostration to Allah, in a humbled manner (i.e. Allah is so Great that everything is submissive to Him)?

وَلِلَّهِۤ يَسۡجُدُۤ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مِن دَآبَّةٖ وَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَهُمۡ لَا يَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ 49

49        And all the creatures and the angels in the heavens and on the earth prostrate themselves to Allah and they are not haughty.

يَخَافُونَ رَبَّهُم مِّن فَوۡقِهِمۡ وَيَفۡعَلُونَ مَا يُؤۡمَرُونَ۩ 50

50        They fear their Creator, Who is above them (i.e. superior to them in every way) and they readily obey what they are commanded. 

۞وَقَالَ ٱللَّهُ لَا تَتَّخِذُوٓاْ إِلَٰهَيۡنِ ٱثۡنَيۡنِۖ إِنَّمَا هُوَ إِلَٰهٞ وَٰحِدٞ فَإِيَّٰيَ فَٱرۡهَبُونِ 51

51        And Allah said: “(O Man-kind!): Don’t worship two gods. Indeed, He is the only One God (worth worshipping). Hence, fear only and only Him”. (Also Surah Al-Anbiya:22)

وَلَهُۥ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَهُ ٱلدِّينُ وَاصِبًاۚ أَفَغَيۡرَ ٱللَّهِ تَتَّقُونَ 52

52        And whatever is in the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah. Perpetual and sincere obedience is obligatory for Him (Alone). Do you still fear others besides Allah?  (Also Surah Az-Zumar:2, 3)

وَمَا بِكُم مِّن نِّعۡمَةٖ فَمِنَ ٱللَّهِۖ ثُمَّ إِذَا مَسَّكُمُ ٱلضُّرُّ فَإِلَيۡهِ تَجۡ‍َٔرُونَ 53

53        And whatever good things you have, it is from Allah. Then, when misfortune falls on you, so you cry bitterly to Him (for help).

ثُمَّ إِذَا كَشَفَ ٱلضُّرَّ عَنكُمۡ إِذَا فَرِيقٞ مِّنكُم بِرَبِّهِمۡ يُشۡرِكُونَ 54

54        Then, when He has removed misery from you, some of you at once start associating partners in worship with their Creator.

لِيَكۡفُرُواْ بِمَآ ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمۡۚ فَتَمَتَّعُواْ فَسَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ 55

55        To be ungrateful to what Allah has bestowed upon them. So, enjoy yourselves for a short while, but soon you will come to know (with much regret).

وَيَجۡعَلُونَ لِمَا لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ نَصِيبٗا مِّمَّا رَزَقۡنَٰهُمۡۗ تَٱللَّهِ لَتُسۡ‍َٔلُنَّ عَمَّا كُنتُمۡ تَفۡتَرُونَ 56

56        And they assign a portion of that which We have provided them to those (i.e. false deities) about whom they know nothing. By Allah! You shall surely be questioned about what you used to fabricate.

وَيَجۡعَلُونَ لِلَّهِ ٱلۡبَنَٰتِ سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥ وَلَهُم مَّا يَشۡتَهُونَ 57

57        And they choose daughters for Allah! Glorified is He above all that they associate with Him! And (they choose) for themselves what they desire.

وَإِذَا بُشِّرَ أَحَدُهُم بِٱلۡأُنثَىٰ ظَلَّ وَجۡهُهُۥ مُسۡوَدّٗا وَهُوَ كَظِيمٞ 58

58        And when any of them is informed (about the birth of) a female, his face turns dark (i.e. without any charm) and he is filled with internal grief. (Also Surah An-Najm:21, 22)

يَتَوَٰرَىٰ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ مِن سُوٓءِ مَا بُشِّرَ بِهِۦٓۚ أَيُمۡسِكُهُۥ عَلَىٰ هُونٍ أَمۡ يَدُسُّهُۥ فِي ٱلتُّرَابِۗ أَلَا سَآءَ مَا يَحۡكُمُونَ 59

59        He goes around hiding himself from the people because of the bad news which has been conveyed to him. (He keeps debating with himself) shall he keep her with disgrace or bury her in the dust? No doubt, what evil decisions they do!
