۞لَّا يُحِبُّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡجَهۡرَ بِٱلسُّوٓءِ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡلِ إِلَّا مَن ظُلِمَۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ سَمِيعًا عَلِيمًا 148

148        Allah does not like an evil activity be propagated in public except by him who has been wronged (i.e. advise evil person privately and not in public). And Allah is All-Hearer (of the wronged person), All-Knower.

إِن تُبۡدُواْ خَيۡرًا أَوۡ تُخۡفُوهُ أَوۡ تَعۡفُواْ عَن سُوٓءٖ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَفُوّٗا قَدِيرًا 149

149        If you do good openly (by thankful words) or secretly, or pardon an evil, verily Allah is Very-Pardoning, All-Powerful. (Also Surah Ash-Shura:40)

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَكۡفُرُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَيُرِيدُونَ أَن يُفَرِّقُواْ بَيۡنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَيَقُولُونَ نُؤۡمِنُ بِبَعۡضٖ وَنَكۡفُرُ بِبَعۡضٖ وَيُرِيدُونَ أَن يَتَّخِذُواْ بَيۡنَ ذَٰلِكَ سَبِيلًا 150

150        Verily, those who disbelieve in Allah and His messenger and wish to make distinction between Allah and His messenger saying: “We believe in some but reject others,” and seek to choose a way in between.

أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ حَقّٗاۚ وَأَعۡتَدۡنَا لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابٗا مُّهِينٗا 151

151        Such are the true disbelievers, and for the disbelievers We have prepared a humiliating torment.

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَلَمۡ يُفَرِّقُواْ بَيۡنَ أَحَدٖ مِّنۡهُمۡ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ سَوۡفَ يُؤۡتِيهِمۡ أُجُورَهُمۡۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورٗا رَّحِيمٗا 152

152        And those who believe in Allah and His messenger and don’t make any distinction between any of His messengers; We shall give them their rewards. And Allah is Very-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

يَسۡ‍َٔلُكَ أَهۡلُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ أَن تُنَزِّلَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ كِتَٰبٗا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِۚ فَقَدۡ سَأَلُواْ مُوسَىٰٓ أَكۡبَرَ مِن ذَٰلِكَ فَقَالُوٓاْ أَرِنَا ٱللَّهَ جَهۡرَةٗ فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّٰعِقَةُ بِظُلۡمِهِمۡۚ ثُمَّ ٱتَّخَذُواْ ٱلۡعِجۡلَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَآءَتۡهُمُ ٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتُ فَعَفَوۡنَا عَن ذَٰلِكَۚ وَءَاتَيۡنَا مُوسَىٰ سُلۡطَٰنٗا مُّبِينٗا 153

153        The People of the Scripture (Jews) demand from you [O Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)!] to make a Book descend upon them from heaven. They, indeed, demanded from Musa (peace be upon him) for even a greater thing than that. They said: “Show us Allah publically.” Hence storm of light-ning struck them because of their rudeness. Then they worshipped the calf even after clear proofs of Allah had come to them. So We forgave them. And We bestowed upon Musa (peace be upon him) an obvious and clear domi-nance (to influence them). [But they were not affected by Our for-giveness or Musa’s (peace be upon him) dominant personality].

وَرَفَعۡنَا فَوۡقَهُمُ ٱلطُّورَ بِمِيثَٰقِهِمۡ وَقُلۡنَا لَهُمُ ٱدۡخُلُواْ ٱلۡبَابَ سُجَّدٗا وَقُلۡنَا لَهُمۡ لَا تَعۡدُواْ فِي ٱلسَّبۡتِ وَأَخَذۡنَا مِنۡهُم مِّيثَٰقًا غَلِيظٗا 154

154        And We raised over them the Mountain to take a promise from them. And We commanded them: “Enter the door while bowing with humility and don’t transgress on Sabbath (Saturday).” And We took from them a very hard and difficult commitments.

فَبِمَا نَقۡضِهِم مِّيثَٰقَهُمۡ وَكُفۡرِهِم بِ‍َٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَقَتۡلِهِمُ ٱلۡأَنۢبِيَآءَ بِغَيۡرِ حَقّٖ وَقَوۡلِهِمۡ قُلُوبُنَا غُلۡفُۢۚ بَلۡ طَبَعَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡهَا بِكُفۡرِهِمۡ فَلَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ إِلَّا قَلِيلٗا 155

155        (This punishment was) be-cause of their breaking the promise and of their rejecting the revela-tions of Allah, and of their killing the Prophets unjustly, and of their claiming: “Our hearts have covering (to protect them from the teachings of the messengers).” In fact, Allah has put a seal upon their hearts because of their disbelief. Hence they do not believe except a little. (And partial belief is not acceptable to Allah).

وَبِكُفۡرِهِمۡ وَقَوۡلِهِمۡ عَلَىٰ مَرۡيَمَ بُهۡتَٰنًا عَظِيمٗا 156

156        And because of their disbelief and due to their putting a big blame on Maryam.

وَقَوۡلِهِمۡ إِنَّا قَتَلۡنَا ٱلۡمَسِيحَ عِيسَى ٱبۡنَ مَرۡيَمَ رَسُولَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ وَمَا صَلَبُوهُ وَلَٰكِن شُبِّهَ لَهُمۡۚ وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱخۡتَلَفُواْ فِيهِ لَفِي شَكّٖ مِّنۡهُۚ مَا لَهُم بِهِۦ مِنۡ عِلۡمٍ إِلَّا ٱتِّبَاعَ ٱلظَّنِّۚ وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ يَقِينَۢا 157

157        And because of their (boastful) claim: “We killed the Messiah [Isa (peace be upon him)], the son of Maryam, and the messenger of Allah.” But they did not kill him, nor crucified him, it only appeared so to them (Allah put the resemblance of Isa (peace be upon him) on another person and Jews killed this person). And, indeed, those who differ about Isa (peace be upon him) have many doubts about it. They don’t have any knowledge or proof about it. Their thinking is based on mere conjecture; and they did not kill Isa (peace be upon him), for sure.

بَل رَّفَعَهُ ٱللَّهُ إِلَيۡهِۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَزِيزًا حَكِيمٗا 158

158        But Allah raised Isa (peace be upon him) up (with his body and soul) to Himself (and Isa (peace be upon him) is in the heavens). And Allah is All-Powerful, All-Wise.

وَإِن مِّنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ إِلَّا لَيُؤۡمِنَنَّ بِهِۦ قَبۡلَ مَوۡتِهِۦۖ وَيَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ يَكُونُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ شَهِيدٗا 159

159        [After the descent of Isa (peace be upon him) on earth] All People of the Scripture must believe in him [Isa (peace be upon him)] before his [Isa’s (peace be upon him)] death. And Isa (peace be upon him) will be witness against them on the Day of Resurrection [this Verse proves that Isa (peace be upon him) will descend to earth].

فَبِظُلۡمٖ مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ هَادُواْ حَرَّمۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ طَيِّبَٰتٍ أُحِلَّتۡ لَهُمۡ وَبِصَدِّهِمۡ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ كَثِيرٗا 160

160        Because of the wrong-doings of the Jews, We made certain good food items unlawful for them which were lawful for them, and because of their hindering many from Allah’s Path.

وَأَخۡذِهِمُ ٱلرِّبَوٰاْ وَقَدۡ نُهُواْ عَنۡهُ وَأَكۡلِهِمۡ أَمۡوَٰلَ ٱلنَّاسِ بِٱلۡبَٰطِلِۚ وَأَعۡتَدۡنَا لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ مِنۡهُمۡ عَذَابًا أَلِيمٗا 161

161        And because of their taking usury which they were forbidden to take and for misappropriating people’s wealth wrongfully (i.e. bribery), and We have prepared for the disbelievers from them a painful torment.

لَّٰكِنِ ٱلرَّٰسِخُونَ فِي ٱلۡعِلۡمِ مِنۡهُمۡ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡكَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ مِن قَبۡلِكَۚ وَٱلۡمُقِيمِينَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَۚ وَٱلۡمُؤۡتُونَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡأٓخِرِ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ سَنُؤۡتِيهِمۡ أَجۡرًا عَظِيمًا 162

162        But those who are firm in their knowledge among them and are also believers, and they believe in what has been revealed to you [Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)] and believe in what was revealed before you, and those who perform Salat and give Zakat and believe in Allah and the Last-Day, We shall soon give them a fantastic award. 

۞إِنَّآ أَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَيۡكَ كَمَآ أَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَىٰ نُوحٖ وَٱلنَّبِيِّ‍ۧنَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦۚ وَأَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَىٰٓ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسۡمَٰعِيلَ وَإِسۡحَٰقَ وَيَعۡقُوبَ وَٱلۡأَسۡبَاطِ وَعِيسَىٰ وَأَيُّوبَ وَيُونُسَ وَهَٰرُونَ وَسُلَيۡمَٰنَۚ وَءَاتَيۡنَا دَاوُۥدَ زَبُورٗا 163

163        Verily, We have sent the revelation to you [O Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)!] as We sent revelation to Nuh (peace be upon him) and the Prophets after him. (Similarly) We sent the revelation to Ibrahim (peace be upon him), Ismail (peace be upon him), Ishaq (peace be upon him), Yaqub (peace be upon him),children of Yaqub (peace be upon him), Isa (peace be upon him), Ayyub (peace be upon him), Yunus (peace be upon him), Harun (peace be upon him), Sulaiman (peace be upon him) and to Dawud (peace be upon him) We gave the Zabur (Book of Psalms).

وَرُسُلٗا قَدۡ قَصَصۡنَٰهُمۡ عَلَيۡكَ مِن قَبۡلُ وَرُسُلٗا لَّمۡ نَقۡصُصۡهُمۡ عَلَيۡكَۚ وَكَلَّمَ ٱللَّهُ مُوسَىٰ تَكۡلِيمٗا 164

164        And We have mentioned to you the stories of many messengers before you, and  We have not men-tioned to you about many messen-gers and Allah spoke to Musa (peace be upon him) directly. 

رُّسُلٗا مُّبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَ لِئَلَّا يَكُونَ لِلنَّاسِ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ حُجَّةُۢ بَعۡدَ ٱلرُّسُلِۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَزِيزًا حَكِيمٗا 165

165        We sent them as messengers to convey good news as well as warnings so that the people have no (apparent) argument against Allah (on the Day of Judgement) after the (coming of) messengers. And Allah is All-Powerful, All-Wise (Also Surah Ta-Ha:134).

لَّٰكِنِ ٱللَّهُ يَشۡهَدُ بِمَآ أَنزَلَ إِلَيۡكَۖ أَنزَلَهُۥ بِعِلۡمِهِۦۖ وَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ يَشۡهَدُونَۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ شَهِيدًا 166

166        But Allah (Himself) is witness to that which is revealed to you, He has revealed it with His Knowledge. And angels are witness to it. And Allah is All-Sufficient as Witness.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَصَدُّواْ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ قَدۡ ضَلُّواْ ضَلَٰلَۢا بَعِيدًا 167

167        Verily, those who disbelieve and hinder others to follow the Path of Allah, they have certainly strayed far away.
